    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation reinforcing method for achieving both of the strength increase of a foundation of an existing structure and the prevention of liquefaction.
      SOLUTION: The foundation reinforcing method is provided for press-fitting and setting a steel pipe pile doubling as an injection pipe for injecting grout into the ground at a location immediately under the existing foundation with the help of an existing foundation as a bearing body, and carried out by the following steps. Specifically the foundation reinforcing method is comprised of: an excavation step of excavating and forming a working space A' into which a reinforcing pile 20 is press-fitted immediately under the existing foundation 14; a reinforcing pile press-fitting step of press-fitting the reinforcing pile 20 with the help of the bottom surface 14a of the existing foundation as a bearing surface; a grout injection step of injecting the grout G via a hollow portion in the reinforcing pile 20; a support member connection step of connecting a support member 38 for supporting the existing foundation 14 to the reinforcing pile 20; and a backfilling step of forming a reinforcing foundation 40 for reinforcing the existing foundation in the excavated working space A', and backfilling the working space. The reinforcing pile 20 has a grout injection hole 28 formed therein, and is formed by successively expanding a plurality of steel pipes 22 having predetermined lengths.

Additionally, a water-expansible seal member 14 for closing a section between the joint 6 or 9 and a leading end of a curved portion of the joint to be fitted into the joints 6 and 9 is attached.
