    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground improving machine and an improving method capable of improving soft ground ranging from a shallow layer to an intermediate layer on the ground surface.
      SOLUTION: This ground improving machine comprises a stirring attachment to be installed to the tip of an arm of a base machine and constituted by removably connecting a mounting frame and a stirring device with each other. Solidifying slurry discharge openings are formed in an upper portion and a lower portion of a rotary stirring blade, and when the attachment is inserted, a switch to the slurry discharge opening in the upper portion is made and when the attachment is drawn out, a switch to the solidifying slurry discharge opening in the lower portion is made. The discharge pressure of the solidifying slurry is set to 0.5 to 5 MPa. An air discharge opening is formed near the discharge opening in the lower portion. The stirring edged at the tip ends of the rotary stirring blades of the stirring attachment are positioned so that at least the locus of at least one stirring edge does not overlap with the locus of another stirring edge during one rotation of the rotary blade on the locus of rotation, and thus an improved square columnar body is produced. The ground improving method using the same is also disclosed.

      SOLUTION: In a multiple excavating and agitating blade drive unit installed at the lower end of an agitation rod of a proper length, two bearing shafts are supported in the lower part of the drive unit so that they are rotatable independently while their axis lines are in alignment with each other in a state where their one end part is protruded outside, and a motor is installed in the upper part of the drive unit. Excavating and agitating blades are fixed respectively to the outside protruding end parts of both bearing shafts so as to be rotatable vertically to the ground when the agitation rod is nearly vertical. A driven bevel gear is fixed to the inside of each bearing shaft, and a drive bevel gear is fixed to the output shaft of the motor. The drive bevel gear meshes with the two driven bevel gears to rotate both excavating and agitating blades in the direction opposite to each other.
