摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a completely new composite material of copper and carbon, to obtain a new functionally gradient material contg. carbon and to obtain a producing method therefor. CONSTITUTION:This functionally gradient composite material is the one with a prescribed shape essentially consisting of copper and carbon, and in which the compositional ratio of copper to carbon in the material continuously changes in at least one prescribed direction. As for the method therefor, the one obtd. by impregnating felt with resin and executing thermocompression forming (step S101) is carbonized by firing (step S102) to obtain a carbon material preform (step S104). In this preform, pyrolytic carbon is heaped (step S105) to obtain a carbon material in which bulk density changes in a prescribed direction (step S107). This carbon material is subjected to silicification treatment to improve its wettability (step S107), and pores in the carbon material are impregnated with copper (step S109) to obtain the functionally gradient composite material of copper and carbon.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart antioxidation property to the surface of a base material without deteriorating its mechanical characteristics by forming an intermediate layer comprising a carbonized resin containing graphite powder on the surface of a base body consisting of a carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite material, and then coating the intermediate layer with silicon carbide. SOLUTION: A mixture soln. containing graphite powder and a resin such as a phenol resin is applied or sprayed on the surface of a base material consisting of a carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite material preferably subjected to the treatment to form pyrolyzed carbon on its surface layer by a CVD method. The applied soln. is calcined and heat treated to be carbonized to form an intermediate layer containing graphite powder in the carbonized resin. The graphite powder has preferably 5 to 100 μm particle size and is preferably compounded by about 20 to 50 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the resin. The intermediate layer is preferably formed to 50 to 500 μm thickness. Then, on the surface of the intermediate layer as a buffer layer for thermal expansion, SiC is applied by about 30 to 500 μm thickness by a vapor deposition method using a source gas containing an Si source such as SiH4.

SOLUTION: This crucible for pulling up a single crystal composed of a fiber-reinforced carbon composite material is constituted of two or more suits of combinations obtained by combining filament windings of not only a circumferential direction reinforcing layer 23 but also axial direction reinforcing layers 22 and 26. The axial direction reinforcing layers 22 and 26 are formed by at least one of a level-winding 26 or a polar-winding 22 having 0 deg.-10 deg. winding angle against a center axis 16, and the circumferential direction reinforcing layer 23 is formed by at least one of a parallel winding 23 or a helical winding having 70 deg.-90 deg. winding angle against the center axis. The axial direction reinforcing layers 22 and 26 cover the center 17 of the bottom, and thereby the crucible having no hole and integrally composed of C/C composite material is obtained. A thermally decomposing carbon penetrates and also covers the surface of the C/C composite material.
