    • PURPOSE:To make it lighter in weight and prevent any deformation from occurring by making up a support member body with a nonmagnetic metal of low temperature conductivity, forming a main contact part at both ends in the sliding frictional direction and a sub contact part in an intermediate part, respectively, and setting up each shoe block, consisting of carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite materials made in both orienting and sliding frictional directions of a carbon fiber, in each space between these contact parts. CONSTITUTION:A platelike support member 1 is formed with a nonmagnetic metal of low temperature conductivity, while each of main contact parts 1b, 1c is installed at both ends in a sliding frictional direction A of its support body 1a, and sub contact parts 1d, 1e are installed in the intermediate part. In succession, those of opposed surfaces of the adjacent main contact parts 1b, 1c and sub contact parts 1d, 1e are formed into each of inclines 2g, 2f expanding inward, and each shoe block 2 is set up in each space between these opposed surfaces. This shoe block 2 uses carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite materials being lighter in weight and excellent in heat resistance as the main components, and it is constituted after according the orienting direction of a carbon fiber with the sliding frictional direction A.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a shoe and improve its durability by a method wherein the shoe comprising a back plate made of nonmagnetic metal and a sliding friction lining made of molybdenum, molybdenum alloy or tungsten is fixed on a shoe receptor while cut grooves are formed in a direction intersecting the running direction of the shoe. CONSTITUTION:On a shoe receptor to be mounted on a carriage, a shoe 5 comprising a back plate 6 made of nonmagnetic metal and a sliding friction lining 7 metal-joined with the back plate 6 made of molybdenum, molybdenum alloy or tungsten wherein thermal expansion coefficient is small, specific gravity is large, specific intensity is small with high melting point and high anti-friction property is fixed. Then cut grooves 8a,8b reaching from the sliding friction lining 7 of the shoes 5 to the back plate 6 at least in a direction intersecting the running direction of the shoe 5. Therefore the weight of the shoe 5 can be reduced as well as by dividing the sliding friction lining 7 by the cut grooves 8a,8b cracks due to difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the lining and the back plate 6 may not easily occur thereby remarkably improving durability of the shoe 5.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the life of a brake for a vehicle by using the brake for the vehicle when the electric braking power by a main electric motor is attenuated in the low speed traveling range where the regular brake is used, and using the multi-plate type braking device in supplementing the braking power of the regular brake in the emergency braking case, or by using it in an emergency when the braking power by the main electric motor becomes invalid. CONSTITUTION:A brake 16 for wheels where metallic friction plates 15a, 15b are used on the sliding surface with the wheels 3 is used as a supplement to a regular brake when the electric braking power by a main electric motor 5 is attenuated in the low speed traveling range where the regular brake is used. On the other hand, a multi-plate type braking device 10 which is connected to a main electric motor shaft 6 through a coupling 9 and consists of a plurality of rotors and stators, and a C/D composite friction material is used when the braking power of the regular brake is supplemented when being used as the emergency brake, when the electric braking power by the main electric motor 5 becomes invalid, and when the emergency brake is applied in the traveling range at full speed.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance reliability and durability by specifying respective material to be used for end support members which are fixedly provided for the both ends of each back plate in the longer direction, and main friction members interposed at the intermediate section of each back plate in the longer direction, and thereby interposing a heat insulating shock absorbing member between each main friction member and each back plate. CONSTITUTION:At the braking time of emergency landing for a magnetic levitation type vehicle, braking force is produced by sliding friction between each one of end support members 2 and main friction members 1 and the surface of a concrete track 14. And a shoe backing member 11 is subjected to moment due to friction force around a mounting pin 15 for a longitudinal support member 12 and a vertical support member 13, so that the end support member 2 at the front side position in the running direction and the main friction members 1 are subjected to theoretically great bearing pressure P. In this case, each end support member 2 is made of Mo, Mo alloys or stainless steel, it is thereby hardly damaged by cracking and the like, and the end support members and the action of heat insulating shock absorbing members 3b therefore combine to effectively prevent the main friction members 1 from being damaged. And the main friction members 1 made of C/C composites hardly reduce their own strength and frictional coefficient even at high temperature, thereby making it possible to effectively apply the brake for the vehicle.
