    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a trouble wherein the operation of a turning actuator cannot follow the control according to a steering condition.
      SOLUTION: A steering wheel 1 and a rack and a pinion 4 are connected to each other via a transmission ratio variable mechanism 7, and a first electric motor 5 as a turning actuator is provided on an output shaft 14 side of the transmission ratio variable mechanism 7. A second electric motor 9 is provided on a transmission ratio operation unit of the transmission ratio variable mechanism 7. A controller 10 performs the basic control according to the vehicular driving state such as the steering angle and the vehicle speed on the input side to the first and second electric motors 5 and 9. Under the condition that the operation of the first electric motor 5 cannot follow the basic control such as a case in which a steering wheel 1 is suddenly and largely steered at a low-speed condition, the control of the second electric motor 9 is corrected to the side of reducing the transmission ratio to the basic control. The required rotational speed of the first electric motor 5 is reduced thereby, and the operational delay of the first electric motor 5 is prevented.
