    • PURPOSE: To provide a still image that is easy to view by attaching a flexible restraint element having a resiliently deformable part to a support element for supporting a rear view mirror unit against a vehicle body, and damping the vibration of the support element by means of resilient deformation. CONSTITUTION: A rear view mirror unit 1 is formed by mounting a mirror 4 on a support element 3 projected from a vehicle body 2. The support element 3 has the mirror 4 attached to its center vertical portion 5 and is pivoted to a bracket 8 and support 9 where the free ends of upper and lower horizontal arms 6, 7 are attached to the vehicle body 2. In this case, an auxiliary restraint element 17 for connecting the support element 3 to the vehicle body 2 is attached. The auxiliary restraint element 17 is formed by attaching a coil spring 19 to one end of a flexible cable 18 and is connected to the lower arm 7 of the support element 3 via a bracket 14. Thereby the vibration of the support element 3 is damped by the coil spring 19.

    • PURPOSE: To restrain the vibration of a mirror due to the vibration of a car body by constituting an auxiliary rod in nest structure to be energized by an elastic means by supporting a part of a support element which is formed roughly in a C-shaped and on which the mirror is installed in a second region of the car body through the auxiliary rod. CONSTITUTION: A rearview mirror assembly 1 for an industrial vehicle is constituted of a support element 3 and a mirror 4 installed on this support element 3. The support element 3 is formed of a metal tube bent roughly in a C-shape, and a pair of upper and lower arms 6, 7 roughly in the horizontal direction continuously provided at both ends of a vertical part 5 in the center are pivotally installed on a bracket 8 and a support 9. In this case, an auxiliary rod 14 is provided at a neighbouring position of the support 9 of the support element 3. This auxiliary rod 14 is made in nest structure and constituted of a stem 16 pivotally supported 11 by the lower arm 7 and a cylindrical tube 18 a base end of which is guided by a pin 29 along a circular arc slot 39 of a bracket 15, and a space between both of the stem 16 and the tube 18 is energized in the contracting direction by an elastic means 27.
