    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a fuel system for starting and purging, which removes old liquid fuel, residing fuel vapor and air from a diaphragm carburetor of an engine while starting the carburetor and/or the engine with the liquid fuel.
      SOLUTION: A starting pump for the fuel system supplies at least the liquid fuel to a starting circuit, preferably supplies at least the liquid fuel and air to a purge circuit for the fuel system. The starting circuit supplies starting fuel to the engine through a conduit connected to an isolated chamber 50 located between an intake nozzle and an exhaust nozzle. The sectional flow range of each nozzle is large enough for the amount of liquid fuel required for starting the engine without flooding it with fuel to flow to the engine. The expanded isolated chamber 50 and the nozzles are combined to prevent the drip of the fuel in a way from the starting circuit to the engine during the normal operation of the engine.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel air mixing device capable of providing desired choke size at an engine start at any throttle valve position by allowing choke valve operation with a simple procedure at the engine start.
      SOLUTION: The fuel air mixing device includes a body having a fuel and air mixing passage, a throttle valve and choke valve moveable between first and second positions to control at least in part the fluid flow in the fuel and air mixing passage, and throttle and choke control members associated with the throttle and choke valves, respectively. The choke control member is associated with an engine starting system so that the choke valve is moved to its second position upon actuation of the starting system. The choke control member is selectively associated with the throttle control member to hold the choke control member in a position spaced from its first position. In this manner, the throttle valve and choke valve is automatically positioned in a desired position for starting of the engine upon actuation of the engine starting system.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi function fuel pump module of an integrated fuel delivery system for an internal combustion engine including a universal structure pod supporting a fuel pump, a motor and a reversible filter cartridge, reducing number of components which varies based on application, and materializing a low cost pressure regulator.
      SOLUTION: A fuel delivery system 20 for an internal combustion engine has a fuel tank 22 which defines an access hole 28 with a cover provided on a top wall 30 or a bottom wall 32 of the tank. The module has the universal pod in the fuel tank and the pod erects between a top part and the bottom wall. The pod has the fuel pump stored in a first bore and has the reversible filter cartridge stored in a second bore. The filter cartridge has a fuel filter member and an integrated pressure regulator. Pressurized fuel goes out of the pump and flows in the second bore through a fuel passage of the pod, and fuel flows through the reversible cartridge filter and the pressure regulator, and flows to each port of the second bore as supply or bypass fuel. The fuel pump module is provided and the module reduces number of components which varies based on application and materializes the low cost pressure regulator.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device preventing unprepared motion of a fuel flow calibration setting needle.
      SOLUTION: A body of a rotary throttle valve type carburetor includes a throttle chamber communicating to a air fuel mixing passage and an air fuel mixing passage, and a fuel flow passage. A throttle valve is stored in the chamber movably in a rotation and an axial direction, and moves between an idling position and an expansion open position to control air fuel mixture flow in the mixing passage. An insertion valve threadedly inserted in and retained by the carburetor adjusts flow rate of fuel from the carburetor through the fuel flow passage. The insertion valve is rotated and moved in an axial direction along the thread by a tool engagement part of the insertion valve. The tool engagement part is not in a round shape and mates with just a special tool. The insertion valve is retained by the throttle valve and moves together with the same. The tool engagement part has a flat surface and is in a roughly D-shape. A carburetor body includes a recess in which the tool engagement part is arranged to limit entrance to the tool engagement part.
