    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal line which can be easily curved and which can reduce a loss of a high frequency signal.SOLUTION: A main body 12 is formed by laminating a plurality of insulation sheets 22 made of a flexible material. Ground conductors 30a, 30b are provided on the main body 12 nearer a positive direction side in a z-axis direction than a signal line 32. A slit S overlaid on the signal line 32 when seen in a plane view from the z-axis direction, is formed on the ground conductors 30a, 30b. A ground conductor 34 is provided on the main body 12 nearer a negative direction side of the z-axis direction than the signal line 32, and overlaid on the signal line 32, when it is seen in a plane view from the z-axis direction. The ground conductors 30a, 30b, 34, and the signal line 32 constitute a strip line structure. An interval L1 between the ground conductors 30a, 30b and the signal line 32 is smaller than an interval L2 between the ground conductors 34 and the signal line 32.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor structure including a millimeter wave transmission line structure that provides reduced phase velocity for an electromagnetic signal, a design structure for the same, and methods of operating the same. SOLUTION: A grounding plate and a transmission line are provided in a stack of dielectric material layers. First transmission line portions having a first width are alternately interlaced with second transmission line portions having a second width in the transmission line. The second width is greater than the first width so that inductance of the transmission line is increased relative to a transmission line having a fixed width. Metal fins may be provided between the grounding plate and the transmission line in the stack of the dielectric material layers. The metal fins may be grounded to the grounding plate to increase capacitance between the transmission line and the grounding plate. The increase in the inductance and the capacitance per unit length between the transmission line and the grounding plate is advantageously employed to provide a reduced phase velocity for electromagnetic signal transmitted through the transmission line.
