    • PURPOSE:To heat both end parts of a strip with a little electric power and to improve the strip quality by installing a couple of laterally movable suspended frames from an overbridge type gantry on the pass line between hot finishing rolling mills and installing a couple of induction heaters being vertically movable on the inside face of the frames facing each other. CONSTITUTION:Carriers 2a movable in the width direction on an overbridge type gantry 1a on the pass line between hot finishing rolling mills. Intermediate movable frames 5a and 5b, which are vertically moved by cylinders 12a, 12b and a distance between the frames 5a, 5b is adjusted by a gap setting cylinder, are installed on the inside face of a couple of vertical frames 2b facing each other. The frames 2b are suspended from the carriers 2a. The frames 5a, 5b are provided with heating faces 6c, 6d vertically moved by copying cylinders 9a, 9b. The heating faces 6c, 6d to which a steel strip 22 exists hold a proper gap against the strip 22 by actions of the above cylinders 9a, 9b. End parts of the strip 22 are heated with a temp. rise of the heating faces 6c, 6d by induction heating inductors 15a, 15b. Therefore, the rolling quality of the rolled strip 22 whose both end parts are easily cooled is made to be uniform and good.

CONSTITUTION:The sheet thicknesses on the outlet sides of respective stands are determined from the size and steel kind of the rolled stock and the load distribution of the respective stands. The rolling loads of the respective stands are determined from the temps. on the inlet sides of the respective stands, the predicted values of deformation resistance and the sheet thicknesses on the outlet sides of the respective stands, then the face pressures of the respective stands are determined. The amts. A of the edge drops on the outlet sides of the respective stands are determined from the face pressures and the shapes of the single-taper work rolls built into the mill. The amt. A of the edge drop on the outlet side of the final stand is determined in accordance therewith. The corrected amt. C of the edge drop is determined from the resultant amt. A of the edge drop and the target amt. B of the edge drop. The width reduction force of the vertical rolling mill to erase the corrected amt. C of the edge drop from the preliminarily determined cross reduction force and the improved amt. of the edge drop and the cross reduction is executed under the cross reduction force obtd. in the above-mentioned manner.

    • PURPOSE:To produce a product having uniform material quality without mixed grain structure over the entire width of the overall length with the min. energy by converting the structure of steel products to austenite by intermediate heating and subjecting the steel product to rolling at the time of rolling after intermediate heating in a rolling line. CONSTITUTION:The part, where the temp. falls to the Ar3 transformation point or below, of the steel product bar 1 which is subjected to rough hot rolling and descaling with high- pressure water in a device 31 is subjected to intermediate heating with edge heaters 4 between F1-F2 of finishing mills F1-F7 and further to finish rolling. A control device 9 is inputted with the actual temps. T1, T2, T7 of thermometers 5-7, a rolling speed VR and the information on a sheet thickness (t), the Ac3 temp. determined from material components and the target temp. T taking the subsequent temp. drop into consideration from a computer 10. The device 9 determines the quantity of the heating output of the heaters 4 so that the temp. of the bar 1 is controlled within the range of the intermediate target temp. above the Ac3 temp. The finish rolling is completed within the range of the target temp. on the final finishing outlet side above the Ar3 temp. The heating degree of the intermediate heating is changed based on the former of the difference between the temps. T2 and DELTAT and the difference between the temp. T7 and the target temp. on the final finishing outlet side.
