Next, the detection data value is corrected according to the correction parameter selected from a plurality of the correction parameters preset to a correction parameter determining means by a correction parameter processing means and the real thickness of the object P to be measured is calculated by a thickness calculation processing means.

    • PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate measurement of a profile of an edge part of an object at a high speed, by applying a software-oriented correction with detection characteristics of a multichannel detector taken into consideration. CONSTITUTION:A radiation emitted from a radiation generator 12 is transmitted through an object 10 to be measured in such as manner as to be attenuated near the edge part 10a thereof according to the thickness thereof while reaching a multichannel detector 14 as intact without being attenuated at any other part than the edge part 10a. The radiation is converted into an electrical signal proportional to the intensity thereof and then, sent to a data collector section 15 as detection data divided into channels. At this point, a CPU224 sends a timing signal to a transmission control section 15b through an interface 225 based on a data processing program of an ROM22 and reads the detection data divided into channels as amplified with a preamplifier 15a according to a data processing procedure to be stored into the memory of a thickness converter section 21. After a thickness calculation is performed therewith, edge channels are discriminated while a correction parameter is determined according to the thickness to perform a correction processing.

    • PURPOSE:To perform measurement of high flexibility and extensibility with a simple constitution by allowing a measuring device to measure a physical quantity and transmit the result to a computer on a basis of a test program stored in a RAM of the measuring device from the general computer. CONSTITUTION:When a keyboard 24 of a general computer 20 is operated to give a transmission command, the test program in a RAM 23 is transmitted to a measuring device 10. The device 10 receives the test program from the computer by the control of an operating system and stores it in a specific address area of a RAM 13. When an execution command is given by a keyboard 14 of the device 10 after this transfer of the test program is completed, a CPU 11 executes the test program in the specific area of the RAM 13. Data of obtained test results is stored in another area of the RAM 13. When the execution of the test program is completed, the CPU 11 transmits test results stored in the RAM 13 to the RAM 23 of the computer 20 and displays them on a display device 26.

    • PURPOSE:To measure an edge profile of a specimen rapidly and highly accurately, by making a follow-up control of a movable plate so as to screen radioactive rays passing the outside from an edge parts of a specimen and measuring continuously a cross-sectional shape of the specimen. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is constructed of a movable plate shifting mechanism 16 shifting the movable plate by receiving a dividing signal from outside and an edge follow-up control unit 24 issuing out of drive control signal which is made to follow up the movable plate basing upon a judgement result of an edge judging unit 32 which judges the edge position by detection of an edge 11a of the specimen 11. By this construction, edge change of the specimen 11 is taken out as edge position data, representing relative mechanical values from a detecting center of the detector 31, using an edge detecting signal from the edge detector 31 arranged in the specified position. And, a drive control signal corresponding to a resulting signal of comparison of the current edge position xi and the previous edge position xi-1 is output and the movable plate is made to go forward and retard backward by a signal thus given to the mechanism 16. Consequently, the movable plate screens radioactive rays passing through a part outside the edge of the specimen 11 during the course of following-out of the edge 11a.

Under such a condition, when a data measuring start command is given, artificially or based on a program, a radiation control section 23 receiving a drive start control signal from a system controller 22, drives a radiation generator 14 to irradiate a fan-like radiation beam 13 near the edge part 11a of an object 11 to be measured therefrom 14. The radiation 13 irradiated from the radiation generator 14 is transmitted through the object 11 being measured in such a manner as to be attenuated near the edge part 11a according to the thickness thereof.
