When master cylinder hydraulic pressure exceeds a prescribed value, cut valves 190, 250 are closed, the hydraulic pressure control force of a control piston which receives the master cylinder hydraulic pressure is restricted, so it is possible to make the diameter of the control piston without increasing the size of the force motor, and attain excellent output hysteresis characteristics. If hydraulic pressure is not fed to the front wheel cylinders 22, 24, the cut valve 250 is not closed, and large rear wheel braking force is attained. It is thus possible to avoid reduction of braking force of the whole vehicle with high efficiency.
