SOLUTION: The slip angle β of a vehicle body is calculated (S20), the longitudinal acceleration Gx' of the vehicle body is calculated after correction in which the centripetal acceleration of the vehicle body caused by the slip angle βof the vehicle body eliminates influence given to the longitudinal acceleration Gx of the vehicle body (S30), the estimation longitudinal acceleration Vwd is calculated on the basis of a value which is a larger value of the wheel speeds Vwf and Vwfr of right and left wheels when the vehicle is not braked (S40, 50), when the vehicle is in a braked state, the estimation longitudinal acceleration Vwd of the vehicle body is calculated on the basis of a value which is the largest value of four-wheel wheel speeds Vwi (S40, 60), and the inclination θof the road surface is calculated on a difference between the longitudinal acceleration Gx' of the vehicle body after correction and the estimation longitudinal acceleration Vwd of the vehicle body (S100).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control device for a vehicle, allowing the detection of opening failure of solenoid valves provided between a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder for each of wheels. SOLUTION: The brake control device for a vehicle comprises a pressure unit 12 for introducing a liquid pressure into each of wheel cylinders via a liquid pressure control device 17 independently of pedal operation to permit automatic pressure on the wheel cylinders and an ECU 18 for driving the pressure unit 12 and the liquid pressure control device 17 to control the braking force of each of wheels. The liquid pressure control device 17 has holding valves 33a-36a and pressure reducing valves 33b-36b in the respective wheels. The ECU 18 has a pressure check part 77 for starting pressure check at a prescribed timing so that the opening failure of any of the holding valves is judged by a holding valve failure judging part 78 of the pressure check part 77 when the changing speed of a master cylinder pressure is increased after a preset time KT1 passes since the pressure check is started.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking control device for vehicle capable of detecting rapidly a failure of a hydraulic valve adapted to switch a communicating state between a master cylinder and wheel cylinders of right and left pair of wheels in a state that a master cylinder pressure is automatically controlled in pressurizing and in a state that wheel cylinder pressures of the wheels being driven wheels are maintained. SOLUTION: This device comprises the master cylinder 20 of which the pressure is automatically controlled in pressurizing, holding valves 33a-36a adapted to switch a communicating state between the master cylinder 20 and the wheel cylinders 13-6 of each wheel and pressure reducing valves 33b-36a adapted to switch a communicating state between reservoirs 38, 39 and the wheel cylinders 13-16 of each wheel. When a difference in wheel speed of the right and left pair of wheels FR, FL exceeds an abnormality judging threshold in the state that the wheel cylinder pressures of the right and left pair of wheels FR, FL being driven wheels are maintained, the holding valve 33a or 34a of the wheel with a smaller wheel speed is judged to be abnormal.
