摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the friction coefficient of a road surface based on which the deceleration of a vehicle is estimated close to the actually possible deceleration of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The braking pressure on right and left front wheels is intensified up to predetermined brake slipped condition (S30, 80, 90), longitudinal force Fxj and supporting load Fzj of the right and left front wheels are operated (S50, 60), the friction coefficient of the road surface is operated based on the longitudinal force Fxj and the supporting load Fzj of the right and left front wheels (S100), and the individual maximum values are set as the maximum friction coefficients μfl, μfr of the right and left front wheels. The maximum friction coefficient μ max of the road surface is operated as a simple average value for μfl, μfr when the vehicle is in a non-turning condition (S120), and it is operated as an average value for μfl, μfr whose smaller one is increased in weight when the vehicle is in the non-turning condition and one of rear wheels subjected to antiskid control is followed by the other on the opposite side to be possible subjected to low selection control (S130-150).

In this case, since the operating forces of the right and left brakes 22, 24 are commonly controlled on the basis of the wheel having a larger slip ratio, the slip rates of the right, and left wheels 12, 14 are prevented favorably from being excessive. Since the electric motor 30 is controlled in consideration of a transfer lag in the cable 32, the slip rates of the right and left wheels 12, 14 can be converged early into an appropriate state.
