The equalizer 16 is provided between the data signal input terminals 12 and 14 and the optical modulator driver 20. The optical modulator driver 20 is electrically connected to the data signal input terminals 12 and 14, and provides a ripple in a specific frequency band. The equalizer 16 can modify frequency characteristics of signals from the data signal input terminals 12 and 14 so that a signal in the specific frequency band is adjusted so as to have characteristics reverse to frequency characteristics of the ripple in the optical modulator driver 20.
