    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve response of change of a gear stage when the gear stage is changed to a low side based on shift operation of a driver in a manual mode. SOLUTION: During a standby period after down operation is performed in the manual mode, a standby control is performed. In the standby control, out of various kinds of parameters used for variable setting of a maximum injection amount Qfull, a parameter without influence of an engine revolution speed is changed so that the maximum injection amount Qfull becomes a large value. Therefore, after the completion of the standby period and when the fuel injection amount is the maximum injection amount Qfull to increase the engine revolution speed for forming the low side gear stage in an automatic transmission 2, the maximum injection amount Qgull becomes the large value. Since the fuel injection amount is the maximum injection amount Qfull to quickly increase the engine revolution speed, the timing of the completion of the formation of the low side gear stage in the automatic transmission 2 (the completion of change to the gear stage) becomes early.
