摘要： In a smelting furnace for carrying out smelting under reduced pressure by fitting a sealing lid so as to cover the furnace inlet all over and thereby keeping it tightly stuck to a vacuum flange on the furnace body side, ore and slag are prevented from adhering to the vacuum flange without using a flange cover. A vacuum flange (10) is provided around either an inclined part (8) from a furnace inlet (9) to the straight barrel part, or the straight barrel part immediately below it, of the external circumference of a smelting furnace (1). Between the furnace inlet (9) of the external circumference of the smelting furnace (1) and the vacuum flange (10), a slag-preventive dummy flange (11) is provided, whose outermost circumference is positioned inside the lower end inner circumference of a sealing lid (4) and outside the lower end inner circumference of a dust collecting hood for atmospheric smelting use.
