    • The invention relates to a controller (3) for controlling a vehicle driveline (100), in particular a driveline (100) comprising a hydrostatic transmission (17), wherein the controller (3) is configured to:
      output a control command (19) for controlling at least one driveline component (4) according to a control map (5), the control map (5) defining a dependence of the control command (19) on at least one of:
      a control position of an input device (2), and
      at least one first condition of the driveline (100);

      receive at least one input signal (8, 18), the input signal (8, 18) comprising a plurality of signal values recorded at different times, wherein the signal values of the at least one input signal (8, 18) are indicative of at least one of:
      the control position of the input device (2),
      the at least one first condition of the driveline (100), and
      at least one second condition of the driveline (100);

      derive a feature (27a, 27b, 28a, 28b; 35a, 35b, 36a, 36b) from the plurality of signal values; and
      adapt the control map (5) based on the derived feature (27a, 27b, 28a, 28b; 35a, 35b, 36a, 36b).
      The invention further relates to a vehicle driveline (100) including said controller (3) and to a method of calibrating a controller (3) for controlling a vehicle driveline (100).

    • The invention relates to a method of detecting a change in the direction of rotation of a rotatable shaft (5) based on non-direction sensitive rotational speed data, the method comprising the steps:
      determining a speed (17) of a rotatable shaft (5) of a vehicle transmission (3) based on non-direction sensitive speed data received from a non-direction sensitive rotational speed sensor (7), wherein the speed (17) of the rotatable shaft (5) is the absolute value of the rotational speed of the rotatable shaft (5);
      determining, based on the speed (17) of the rotatable shaft (5), if the duration of a first continuous time interval (20) during which the speed (17) of the rotatable shaft (5) is continually smaller than a first predetermined speed value (18) is shorter than a predetermined duration (24); and
      detecting that a change in the direction of rotation of the rotatable shaft (5) has occurred during the first continuous time interval (20) if the duration of the first continuous time interval (20) is shorter than the predetermined duration (24).
      The invention is based on the finding that if decelerating of a shaft below a speed threshold towards zero speed and re-accelerating above a speed threshold occurs within a very short time, it is very likely that this is due to a change in direction, while deceleration towards an intended stop normally results in a much longer duration of the stay in the very low speed region.
      The invention further relates to a controller (8) for carrying out the method and to a driveline (100; 200) including the controller (8).
