摘要： The present invention is directed to a device and a method, particularly suitable for temperature adjustment of a patient and/or suitable for fever treatment and/or normothermia and/or hypothermia. The device comprises at least one connection to at least one reservoir suitable to provide infusion fluid; at least one assembly controller for controlling the temperature and/or flow rate of the infusion fluid; at least one temperature controller adapted for cooling and/or heating the temperature of the infusion fluid so that the infusion fluid is delivered with a pre-set temperature; and/or at least one flow controller for controlling the flow of the infusion fluid; and at least two outgoing ducts; wherein the flow controller is adapted to feed the outgoing ducts with different flow rates.

Right vestibular function in subjects diagnosed with a mood disorder is diminished compared with subjects who do not have a mood disorder. Accordingly, a method and apparatus for determining right vestibular function in a subject is provided, from which a diagnosis of a mood disorder may be determined. Stimulation of the vestibular system of a subject diagnosed with a mood disorder may reduce symptoms of the mood disorder in the subject. A method and apparatus for registering a subject's response to stimulation of the vestibular system and providing therapeutic vestibular stimulation based on the subject's response is provided. A subject's response to stimulation of the vestibular system may be based on measurements of nystagmus in the subject.

The top surface is inclined with respect to the bottom surface and includes a depression. The cover covers the core and includes a mesh-like material that forms an inclined hammock over the depression. The head and torso of an infant are placed on the hammock. One or more sidewalls of the depression may have one or more openings to facilitate air circulation within the depression cavity. 摘要： Apparatus for altering the body temperature of a patient comprises an enclosure defining an interior space for receiving at least a portion of a patient's body therein. The enclosure has at least one gusset that is resiliently deformable for accommodating patients of various sizes. A supply conduit fluidly connects an inlet of the enclosure to a reservoir, and a return conduit fluidly connects an outlet of the enclosure to the reservoir. A first coupler joins the supply conduit and the return conduit to the reservoir and a second coupler joins the supply conduit and the return conduit to the enclosure. The reservoir generally comprises a bag and at least a portion of the supply conduit is integral with the bag.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for heating or cooling at least a selected portion of a patient's body. The method begins by inserting a catheter (100) through the urethra and into the bladder (11) of the patient. A heated or chilled fluid is conducted through a supply lumen (106) of the catheter and into the bladder. The fluid is evacuated from the bladder through a return lumen (108) of the catheter. Finally a quantity of urine is monitored which flows out of the bladder and through the return lumen of the catheter. The rate of fluid flowing through the supply lumen may be adjusted in a manner that is based at least in part on the monitored quantity of urine flowing out of the bladder.

摘要： A non-contact controllable heater wound covering and method having a peripheral sealing ring covered by a layer to which is attached a heater and this assembly is attached to the skin with an adhesive so that the heater is held proximate the wound area in a non-contact position. The layer and peripheral sealing ring together define a treatment volume proximate the wound. The wound covering includes a programmable active heater control and the sealing ring may dispense water to control the humidity of the treatment volume. One form of active heat is an electrical resistive filament in variable geometric shapes providing versatility in application of heat to different types of wounds and wound area geometries. Another form of active heat is the transfer of a heated gas to the wound covering.
