    • A hydraulic control system according to the present invention for a construction machine is provided with a directional control valve (3) switchable by a pilot control valve (5), a hydraulic cylinder (4), a pilot pump (7), a selector valve (6) for selecting one of a maximum value out of pilot pressures of the pilot control valve (5), a flow control unit (2) for controlling the flow rate of a variable displacement hydraulic pump (1), a pressure-reducing valve (30) for converting a delivery pressure of the pilot pump (7) to a pump control signal (Pc), which controls driving of the flow control unit (2), in accordance with a pilot pressure (Pa) guided to a first signal line (21a) connected to the selector valve (6), a branch line (22) connecting the pilot pump (7) and the pressure-reducing valve (20) with each other, and a second signal line (21b) for guiding the pump control signal (Pc), which has been converted at the pressure-reducing valve (20), to the flow control unit (2).
