摘要： A tunable acoustic wave filter is switchable between band-pass and band reject characteristic.
The filter comprises in a T-ype arrangement a first and second series resonator (82A...82N, 83A...83N), each with a switch in parallel (182A...182N, 183A...183N), and a third resonator (84A...84N) to ground. The first and second series resonators have differing resonance and anti-resonance frequencies. Depending on the position of the two switches the filter can operate with band-pass or band reject characteristic. Each resonator may have variable capacitors in parallel and in series to allow for tunability of the filter characteristic.

摘要： A filter arrangement for use in a multiband dual-mode mobile phone. In particular, the mobile phone is operable in a W-CDMA mode and a band-reject filter comprising at least a series and a shunt acoustic-wave resonators is used to create a deep notch at the receive frequency band. The band-reject filter further includes a plurality of inductive elements for matching static capacitance of the resonators at the passband frequency. The mobile phone is also operable in 1800 and 1900 GSM bands. The band-reject filter is operatively connected to a harmonic trap in order to eliminate the third harmonic of these GSM bands. The mobile phone is also operable in the lower GSM band, for which a harmonic filter can share an antenna path with the band-reject filter.

摘要： A tunable RF filter comprises a signal transmission path having an input and output, a plurality of resonant elements disposed along the signal transmission path between the input and output, and a set of non-resonant elements coupling the resonant elements together to form a stop band having a plurality of transmission zeroes corresponding to respective frequencies of the resonant elements, and at least one sub-band between the transmission zeroes. The set of non-resonant elements comprises a first plurality of non-resonant elements respectively coupled in parallel with the resonant elements, and a second plurality of non-resonant elements respectively coupled in series with the resonant elements. The first plurality of non-resonant elements comprises at least one variable non-resonant element for selectively introducing at least one reflection zero within the stop band to create a pass band in one of the one sub-band(s) without varying any of the second plurality of non-resonant elements.

摘要： Band reject filters are disclosed. A band reject filter includes a first acoustic resonator and a second acoustic resonator, each of which has either shunt resonators adapted to resonate substantially at respective resonance frequencies defining a rejection frequency band or series resonators adapted to anti-resonate substantially at respective anti-resonance frequencies defining the rejection frequency band. These resonators are connected through a phase shifter which imparts an impedance phase shift of approximately 45°to 135°. Exemplary applications of the band reject filters disclosed herein include implementation as an inter-stage band reject filter for a base station power amplifier for a wireless communication system, as a radio frequency band reject filter in a duplexer for a wireless communication terminal, and in a low noise amplifier input stage.

The acoustic resonator is also switched off if no DC bias voltage is applied across the BST dielectric layer. Furthermore, the resonant frequency of the acoustic resonator can be tuned based on a level of the DC bias voltage, with the resonant frequency increasing as the level of the DC bias voltage applied to the BST acoustic resonator increases.

摘要： A filter formed of film bulk acoustic resonators (40,42,44,48,54,56,60) has a topology that enables a trimming inductor (58) to be fabricated on the same substrate as the resonator arrays. The entire filter can be fabricated on a single chip, utilizing only integrated circuit processes. In an exemplary embodiment, a pair of shunt resonators (54,56) each have one electrode connected to series-connected resonators. The other electrodes of the two shunt resonators are connected in common to one another. The trimming inductor (58) is connected between the common electrode and ground potential. A third shunt resonator (60) is connected between the series-connected resonators and ground potential.
