    • An outboard motor (10) having an engine (11) is provided with a power transmission mission device. The power transmission device (30) includes a drive shaft (21) which is driven by the engine (11) and a propeller shaft (23) which is driven by the drive shaft (21) through a bevel gear mechanism (28). The bevel gear mechanism (28) includes a drive bevel gear (22) which is mounted to the drive shaft (21) and a forward driven bevel gear (24) and a reverse driven bevel gear (25) which are arranged around the propeller shaft (23) so as to face each other and are engaged with the drive bevel gear (22), and the forward driven bevel gear (24) and the reverse driven bevel gear (25) always engage with the drive bevel gear (22) and are selectively disconnected from the propeller shaft (23) through a clutch mechanism (27). The drive bevel gear (22), the forward driven bevel gear (24) and the reverse driven bevel gear (25) are configured as straight bevel gears, and only the drive bevel gear (22) is provided with a crowning portion expanding a side surface portion of each teeth outwardly in a tooth thickness direction at an intermediate portion in a tooth width direction.

    • An object of the present invention is to provide an outdrive unit (3) that allows space to be saved in the positioning of a hydraulic circuit for trolling, and enables easy maintenance of the hydraulic circuit for trolling. The invention provides an outdrive unit (3) mounted outside of a boat, including: a propeller (4) for propulsion; a hydraulic clutch (8) that controls driving of the propeller; a transmission mechanism (71,72,73,731) that transmits drive power from the hydraulic clutch (8) to the propeller; a hydraulic circuit that operates the hydraulic clutch (8), the hydraulic circuit comprising a switching valve (101) that switches a rotational direction of the propeller (4), a pressure-reducing valve (102) for trolling that reduces a pressure of a pressurized oil supplied to the hydraulic clutch (8), a filter (103) for the pressurized oil introduced to the pressure-reducing valve (102), and a hydraulic pump (21) that supplies the pressurized oil to the hydraulic clutch (8); a housing (32) that houses at least one of the hydraulic clutch (8), transmission mechanism (71,72,73,731), and hydraulic circuit; a base (10) on which the switching valve, pressure-reducing valve, and filter are mounted, the base being detachably mounted in the housing (32).
