    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the resonance of a building not only with the short-period components but also with long-period components of earthquake motion. SOLUTION: This base isolating method includes base-isolating and supporting a building 1 by means of a plurality of base isolating devices 2A, 2B and causing the natural period of the building 1 to deviate from the period of earthquake motion by changing some of the base isolating devices 2B into sliding supports according to the period of the earthquake motion. This base isolating system includes the base isolating devices 2B base-isolating and supporting the building 1 and capable of being changed into the sliding supports, a sensor 4 for sensing the period of earthquake motion, and a control device 3 for controlling the base isolating devices 2B according to the result of detection by the sensor 4 so that they are changed from base-isolating supports into the sliding supports. Sliding plates 5 secured to the building 1 are connected to the base isolating devices 2B by connecting mechanisms 6, which are actuated by an operation signal from the control device 3 to disconnect the sliding plate 5 from the base isolating devices 2B.

    • PURPOSE:To enable handy measurement of fine vibration of various equipments, by housing a vibration meter, an amplifier, a waveform recording means and a battery power source into one trunk case. CONSTITUTION:An accelerometer (vibration meter) 4 is removed from a trunk case 1 to be set at a vibration measuring point, measures acceleration due to fine vibration at the point and outputs a detection signal corresponding to the acceleration to be inputted into an amplifier 5 in the case 1. The amplifier 5 has a function of amplifying measuring signals as intact or a function amplifying the acceleration once converted to a speed or displacement and these three functions can be selected according to a measuring mode. A pen recorder 6 records an amplifier waveform of an output signal of the amplifier 5 continuously on a recording paper being fed at a constant speed. A max. value digital display device 7 displays the max. value of the output signal thereof 5 digitally. A battery 8 and a charging circuit 9 are housed into the case 1 to drive all devices therein 1. The accelerometer 4 and a power source cable 10 are housed into an S section.
