The viscoelastic member 35 is brought in contact with the bottom 36 of a lower flange 34a of a H-shaped steel 34, the end section 38a of the metal plate 38 is fixed to the lower flange 34a with a bolt 40 and nut 41, and one the end section 39a of the metal plate 39 is fixed to the lower flange 34a with a bolt 42 and nut 43 to form a vibration controlling beam G.

摘要： Le dispositif de suppression de vibrations comprend un réservoir 4 disposé sur la structure 2 et contenant un liquide 5 et un moyen d'amortissement 6 disposé dans le réservoir 4. La quantité de liquide 5 est telle que sa période naturelle soit égale à celle de la structure. Le moyen d'amortissement 6 est un genre de grille. Lorsque la structure 2 entre en vibration, le liquide 5 du réservoir se met à vibrer avec un quart de période de décalage par rapport à celle de la structure, supprimant ainsi les vibrations de celle-ci. Après avoir supprimé les vibrations de la structure, les vibrations du liquide 5 sont amorties de façon efficace, du fait qu'il traverse la grille du moyen d'amortissement 6.

摘要： : The present invention is related to a method for restraining response of a structure to outside disturbances such as winds and earthquakes etc. and an apparatus therefor. According to the invention there is provided an apparatus which comprises (a) an enclosure defining an inner space thereby, (b) a liquid retained in the enclosure and having a free surface, and (c) an obstacle means disposed in the enclosure for disturbing a flow of the liquid, whereby the liquid has at least one sloshing natural frequency and the obstacle means increases damping coefficient of the sloshing. According to the invention, there is also provided a method which comprises the steps of (a) attaching at least one enclosure to the structure, the enclosure defining an inner space, (b) attaching at least one obstacle means to the enclosure so that the obstacle is retained inside the enclosure, and (c) providing the enclosure with liquid so that a prescribed portion of the inner space filled with the liquid and the liquid has a free surface, wherein dimensions of the enclosure and the amount of the liquid is so determined that a sloshing natural frequency of the liquid generally coincides with the natural frequency of the structure.

摘要： There is disclosed a device for suppressing vibration of a structure such as building, a bridge and the like. The vibration-suppressing device includes a tank disposed on the structure, a liquid contained in the tank, and damping mechanism disposed within the tank. The amount of the liquid is such that the natural period of the liquid is equal to that of the structure. The damping mechanism is of a net construction. When the structure is vibrated due to earthquake, wind or the like, the liquid in the tank vibrates for a quarter of a period out of phase compared to the structure, thereby suppressing the vibration of the structure. After suppressing the structure's vibration, the vibration of the liquid is effectively dampened as the liquid passes through the mesh of the dampening mechanism.

摘要： The present invention concerns apparatus for restraining vibration of a structure having at least one natural mode of vibration. The apparatus comprises an enclosure, a main weight, a resilient member, a viscous liquid, and an adjustment device. The enclosure defines an inner space therein and the main weight has a mass and is enclosed in the enclosure. The resilient member connects the weight to the enclosure and exerts on the weight, a restoring force proportional to the relative displacement of the weight with respect to the enclosure. The viscous liquid is retained in the inner space and has a viscosity which provides to the weight, a damping force which is proportional to a relative velocity of the weight with respect to the enclosure. The resilience of the resilient member and the mass of the main weight provide the apparatus with at least one natural frequency of vibration. The adjustment device provides the capability of adjusting resilience of the resilient member and/or the mass of the weight, in order to adjust the natural frequency of the apparatus. In order to restrain the vibration of the structure, the apparatus has at least one natural frequency of vibration which corresponds to at least one natural mode of vibration in the structure.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of restraining vibration of a floor and an apparatus therefor. According to the method, a reservoir is attached to the floor which is supported from structural members of a floor structure and fluid is put in the reservoir. Geometry of the reservoir and depth of the fluid is determined so that sloshing natural frequency of the fluid coincides with a natural frequency of the floor in a same direction. The vibration restraining apparatus according to the present invention is provided with a reservoir wherein a prescribed amount of liquid is retained. Natural sloshing frequency of the liquid in the reservoir is generally equal to a natural frequency of the floor structure. As the floor vibrates because of vibration of the floor structure or vibrational source on the floor, vibrational energy of the floor is transmitted to the liquid and cause sloshing thereto. Because the sloshing natural frequency is generally equal to the natural frequency of the floor, vibrational energy of the floor is almost totally transmitted to the liquid. Consequently, vibration of the floor is restrained.
