摘要： A vacuum filtration apparatus is provided with one or more vacuum chambers fixedly secured at predetermined positions. The interior of the vacuum chamber alternates between a partial vacuum and atmospheric pressure. An endless filter belt has a horizontal section disposed above the vacuum chamber. A slurry is fed from one or more slurry feeders onto the horizontal section of the endless filter belt so as to create a cake of solid particles. Water is fed from one or more water feeders onto the cake to wash the solid particles on the endless filter belt. The endless filter belt intermittently advances by a predetermined length. When the endless filter belt is stopped, the vacuum chamber is under a vacuum so as to draw the liquid constituent from the slurry, thereby obtaining a purified cake of the solid particles. The vacuum filtration apparatus is provided with a coupling bar at which the slurry feeder and the water feeder is attached. The coupling bar can reciprocate along the endless filter belt by the length of the intermittent advancement of the endless belt. Preferably, the coupling bar is connected to a belt advancing device so that the advancement of the endless filter belt causes movement of the slurry feeder and the water feeder in the direction which is the reverse of the direction of advancement of the endless filter belt.

摘要： A magnetic separation unit can prevent any magnetic flocs deposited on an inner wall of a water passing pipe from closing a water channel for stabilizing a magnetic separation performance and reduce cost by a small-diameter portion of the water passing pipe. The magnetic separation unit has an air-core solenoid type magnet provided around the water passing pipe guiding, from a lower side, treated water including magnetic flocs in which contaminants and magnetic particles are flocculated, a rotating disc type magnetic filter case provided above the air-core solenoid type magnet for attracting the magnetic flocs in the treated water supplied from the water passing pipe and flushing means for flushing the matrixes to which the magnetic flocs are attracted. The water passing pipe has a small-diameter pipe positioned in the air-core solenoid type magnet, and an enlarged pipe enlarged from the small-diameter pipe toward a water passing part of the rotating disc type magnetic filter case.

摘要： A process for directly liquefying coal in a reactor including a preheating section and a reaction section, each having a plurality of pressure-resistant vertical pipes, comprises introducing into the preheating section a paste consisting of finely divided coal, catalyst and heavy oil. In the preheating section the paste is heated to a temperature of 380.degree. to 410.degree. C. and preheated hydrogen is blown into each pipe to create a velocity of Reynolds number equal to at least 3.times.10.sup.3 and an axial dispersion coefficient of not more than 0.05. The preheated paste and hydrogen are forwarded to the reaction section where they are heated to a temperature of 400.degree. to 500.degree. C. and further hydrogen is introduced into each pipe of the reaction section to maintain the velocity and axial dispersion values and a high partial pressure of hydrogen. The total quantity of hydrogen introduced is 1 to 3 times the stoichiometric value.

摘要： A heat insulated tank is disclosed having inner and outer walls between which a supporting material is interposed. The material comprises a molding of alkaline earth metal silicates or a molding of composite material based thereon having a continuous open cell structure and subjected to heat treatment under vacuum. Inside and outside faces of said supporting material are provided with a suitable number of grooves. The entire surface of said supporting material is impregnated with a solution of sodium silicate, potassium silicate or ethyl silicate and subjected to baking.The supporting material has a high insulating capability and a high resistance to compression, thus it is applicable to square shaped tanks in addition to conventional spherical or cylindrical ones. The tank is easy to manufacture with increased storage capacity.

The obtained composition with a high ganglioside content is used advantageously as a material for foods and drinks, medicines, chemical products, etc.

摘要： An improved apparatus for removing magnetic material from a flowing fluid such as water by magnetic separation has a single set of electromagnets which are used with a plurality of magnetic filters for continuous magnetic separation operation alternately without obstructing the flow of the fluid being processed. A high-gradient magnetic filter arrangement which passes through a magnetic field generated by the magnets is made up of at least two magnetic filters separated by a watertight partition. When the fluid being processed is flowing through one of the magnetic filters, the other filter is removed from the flow of the fluid into a magnetic filter housing which is separated from the fluid flow through the magnetic filter by means of partitions. Backwashing of this other magnetic filter is carried out while purification of the fluid being processed by the former magnetic filter continues uninterrupted. Dummy magnetic filters are provided at the outer ends of the magnetic filter arrangement so that whichever of the magnetic filters is removed from the flow of the fluid being processed, the filter matrices do not leave the magnetic field formed by the plurality of magnets, and consequently the magnetic filters can be moved in and out of the magnetic field with a minimal driving force.
