摘要： A pendulum arrangement for a Tuned Mass Damper utilizes a pair of generally equal masses, the masses being arranged so that first surfaces thereof face each other and second surfaces thereof face away from each other. A hinge structure is affixed to the first surfaces of the masses so as to hingedly connect the two masses together. Spaced apart tension members are connected at one end thereof to a supporting frame and at the other end to the hinge structure. Each one of a pair of compression members is pivotally connected at one end thereof to an upper portion of an adjacent mass and pivotally rests on a lower support surface. The masses are supported by the tension and compression members for limited swinging movement thereof with a substantially lower period that could be achieved within the same space with a conventional pendulum.

摘要： A breast imaging system leverages the combined strengths of two- dimensional and three-dimensional imaging to provide a breast cancer screening with improved sensitivity, specificity and patient dosing. A tomosynthesis system supports the acquisition of three-dimensional images at a dosage lower than that used to acquire a two-dimensional image. The low-dose three-dimensional image may be used for mass detection, while the two-dimensional image may be used for calcification detection. Obtaining tomosynthesis data at low dose provides a number of advantages in addition to mass detection including the reduction in scan time and wear and tear on the x-ray tube. Such an arrangement provides a breast cancer screening system with high sensitivity and specificity and reduced patient dosing.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a distributed networked ozonation system for ozonation of storage rooms containing fresh or perishable products, and also may be useful in other applications involving multiple ozonated zones. An exemplary embodiment uses a set of distributed ozone generators connected to a communication network. An exemplary ozone generator comprises an ozone sensor, an ozone-generating cell, and a controller, and also may comprise an air cooling unit with an ozone destruct air filter, so that the generator may be placed within an ozonated environment. The ozone level of the storage area may be under closed-loop feedback control. The controller may communicate with other controllers at the same site and with a site controller, which in turn may communicate with a remote controller.

摘要： Described herein are endoscopic plicators passed transorally into the stomach and used to plicate stomach tissue by engaging tissue from inside of the stomach and drawing it inwardly. In the disclosed embodiments, the tissue is drawn inwardly into a vacuum chamber, causing sections of serosal tissue on the exterior of the stomach to be positioned facing one another. The disclosed plicators allow the opposed sections of tissue to be moved into contact with one another, and preferably deliver sutures, staples or other means for maintaining contact between the tissue sections at least until serosal bonds form between them. Each of these steps may be performed wholly from the inside of the stomach and thus can eliminate the need for any surgical or laparoscopic intervention. After one or more plications is formed, medical devices may be coupled to the plication(s) for retention within the stomach.
