    • An injection syringe including a device for preparation of an injection in situ, useful to the injection which is liable to suffer chemical changes if left for a long time in the state of solution or dispersion ready to inject. The injection syringe is portable by a patient who may prepare a necessary injection in situ with the use of a device included in the syringe which will automatically perform an injection with a prescribed dosage. The injection syringe includes a device for preparation of an injection, whereby mechanical impacts affecting the medicine and consequently, chemical changes with a medicine would be minimized during the step of dissolving the medicine. The syringe as noted is especially useful for preparation of injection and injection of human growth hormones, interferon and various polypeptides which are of an environmentally sensitive nature and liable to suffer chemical changes if left for a long time in the state of solution or dispersion.

    • A pump assembly for storing and discharging a liquid such as a chemical solution includes a substantially cylindrical container for storing the liquid therein. A pump is mounted on one end of the container. The pump has a suction port for drawing the liquid from the container and an outlet port for discharging the liquid. A gasket is slidably inserted in the opposite end of the container in contact with the liquid stored in the container, for sealing the liquid in the container. The gasket is slidable toward the pump when the liquid stored in the container is reduced by the pump. A slanted portion is disposed in one end of the container and has a slanted surface extending continuously from an inner peripheral surface of the container and converging away from the gasket. The suction port of the pump communicates with the interior space of the container substantially at a converging end of the slanted surface. Any trapped air is collected between the slanted surface and the liquid contained in the container, and can be discharged from the container by the pump before the liquid is discharged from the container by the pump.

    • The present invention provides a method for cultivation of a genetically-modified plant that can highly produce a desired protein. More specifically, the present invention provides a method for cultivation of a genetically-modified plant comprising: cultivating the genetically-modified plant in a medium, wherein the genetically-modified plant is transformed by introducing an expression vector comprising a promoter regulating expression of RNA and a seed storage protein isolated from a plant that highly expresses RNA and the seed storage protein under a high nitrogen condition; and a polynucleotide encoding an objective protein, and wherein the medium is adjusted so that nitrate nitrogen is 70 mg/L to 750 mg/L and/or ammonium nitrogen is 70 mg/L to 750 mg/L for a definite period in a period from 30 days before an expected flowering date to a date on or before flowering of the genetically-modified plant.

    • A pump is mounted in one end of a cylindrical container for storing a liquid, for drawing the liquid stored in the cylindrical container and discharging the drawn liquid out of the cylindrical container. A piston is slidably disposed in the opposite end of the container in keeping the liquid sealed in the cylindrical container. The piston is movable toward the pump as the amount of the liquid stored in the cylindrical container is reduced when the liquid is discharged from the cylindrical container by the pump. The piston has a slanted surface facing the pump for contact with the liquid stored in the cylindrical container, the slanted surface being inclined progressively toward the second axial end. The piston also has a cylindrical surface defining a communication hole defined axially therethrough and having an inner end opening at the slanted surface. The communication hole provides communication between the interior and the exterior of the cylindrical container. A cap comprises a cap body inserted in the communication hole and a flange closes an outer end of the communication hole. At least either one of the cap body and the cylindrical surface has at least one axial groove. Air bubbles which may have been trapped in the container when the liquid is charged into the container move along slanted surface into the communication hole and then is escaped from the container through the groove.
