    • An oxygen sensor is disposed downstream from a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and which can suppress an influence of unburnt hydrocarbon on an output voltage. After forming a platinum thin film on the outer periphery of a zirconia ceramic body, only a detection electrode of the ceramic body is dipped in a silver nitrate aqueous solution of 0.1 mol/l, and the silver nitrate is pyrolyzed through a heat treatment. Subsequently, a platinum reference electrode is formed on the inner periphery of the ceramic body. To protect the silver-doped detection electrode, a protective layer is formed on the surface of the detection electrode. By the exposure to combustion gas and through aging, a detection element is formed, and set into a metal case together with a cylindrical heater, to complete an oxygen sensor to be disposed downstream from a CNG engine catalyst.

    • A signal PWR is driven into a low level in response to a power-off command from the computer, then the low level PWR signal is entered to an input terminal 36 of a switching circuit 130 and regulators 152 to 156 respectively. Consequently, the regulators come to rest and thereby the power supply to the computer is shut off. Receiving the low level PWR signal, a photo-coupler 134 and a transistor 132 in the switching circuit 130 are turned off respectively, as well as the operation of a power factor correction circuitry is stopped. Consequently, an AC power factor correction circuitry comes to rest when the power supply to the computer is shut off, and thereby the power consumption of the computer can be reduced.

    • An AC adaptor that can reduce power not in use state, and a battery-operated electronic apparatus that can employ such an AC adaptor. An AC adaptor includes, (a) an input line along which an external AC voltage is input, (b) a first transformer for transforming the input AC voltage into a DC voltage at a first voltage level, (c) a switch provided on the primary side of the first transformer, (d) an output line along which a DC voltage on the secondary side of the first transformer is output externally, (e) a second transformer for transforming the input AC voltage into a DC voltage at a second voltage level that is higher than the first voltage level and for outputting the resultant DC voltage to the output line, and (f) an AC adaptor operation control circuit for comparing a voltage level across the output line with a reference voltage level, which is higher than the first voltage level and which is lower than the second voltage level, and for turning on the switch when the voltage level across the output line is lower than the reference voltage level, or for turning off the switch when the voltage level across the output line exceeds the reference voltage level. When an electronic apparatus does not require supply of power, the AC adaptor is detached from the system load in the apparatus, so that the voltage across the output line of the AC adaptor exceeds the reference voltage. In response to the result of the comparison, the switch on the primary side of the first transformer is turned off, and thus the operation of the first transformer can be halted.

    • A casting mold is provided for a body frame for a motorcycle including a head pipe for supporting a rotary shaft for a handle, a pair of left and right main body frame elements, connected to the head pipe and extending rearwardly of a car body, a pair of left and right engine supporting members, connected to and extending downwardly from the main body frame elements adjacent to said head pipe, and a horizontally extending frame element connecting said left and right main body frame elements to each other at intermediate portions in the longitudinal direction. The engine is supported at least at a lower end portion of the left and right engine supporting members and intermediate portions in the longitudinal direction of the left and right main body frame elements and an upper end portion of a shock absorber is connected to the horizontally extending frame elements. A cast body frame is constructed of a light alloy and assembled by joining a leftward and a rightward divided block formed in shapes being vertically divided at the head pipe portion to each other. The main body frame elements are formed from a tubular member having a rectangular cross section wherein the widths of the opposite side walls are larger relative to the widths of upper and lower walls, and the widths of the side walls gradually vary from a front end portion connected to the head pipe to a rear end portion for forming at least a smaller area between the front end portion to the rear end portion.
