摘要： Artificial joint prosthetic components including synovial fluid deflection structures are described. Embodiments of artificial joint prosthesis include those with: a bone-facing surface of an artificial joint prosthesis, the bone-facing surface configured to face a bone-prosthesis interface in vivo; a non-contact surface of the artificial joint prosthesis; and at least one fluid deflection structure positioned on the non-contact surface, the fluid deflection structure positioned to deflect synovial fluid away from the bone-prosthesis interface in vivo. Some embodiments include at least one particle retaining structure positioned to contact the directed flow of synovial fluid and configured to retain particles present within the synovial fluid.

摘要： The Body Cavity Cancer Treatment System achieves extremely uniform temperatures inside the tissue of the body cavity thereby realizing optimal efficacy in enhancing operation of the chemotherapy agent while avoiding harm or pain to the patient. This is accomplished by the inclusion of "target particles", such as nano-particles, into the body cavity along with the chemotherapy agent to enable the use of an externally generated energy field to cause heating of the chemotherapy agent and the surrounding tissue of the body cavity by the activation of the nano-particles. The proper selection of the applied energy field enables precise control of the heat generated by the movement of the nano-particles.

摘要： The present invention relates, in general, to a microrobot system for intravascular therapy and, more particularly, to a microrobot system for intravascular therapy, which removes thrombus, clots and occlusions that are clogging blood vessels using the fast rotary power of a spherical microrobot having protrusions, thus treating clogged blood vessels. The microrobot system for intravascular therapy according to the present invention includes a spherical microrobot unit (100') including a magnet having an arbitrary magnetization direction and having protrusions formed on a surface thereof. An electromagnetic field generation unit (200) sets an alignment direction and a locomotion direction of the microrobot unit to arbitrary directions in the 3D space, generates magnetic fields, and then drives the microrobot unit so that the microrobot unit is rotated by itself or is propelled in the locomotion direction. An imaging unit (300) captures an X-ray image and then tracking a location of the microrobot unit.

摘要： A method of treating an intravascular thrombus is disclosed. The method comprises providing a guide wire and catheter with at least one inductive element within a blood vessel to a distal location associated with the thrombus; and providing electromagnetic energy via at least one inductive element to the thrombus to cause thrombolysis. Medicated magnetic particles can be endovascularly localized and concentrated to the vascular territory affected by thrombosis. The method can also include providing an actuated segment on the distal portion of the guide wire to impart mechanical energy at the site of distal thrombus to work adjunctively with the inductive element facilitating thrombolysis. The guide wire can be shaped using an external guide wire shaping method to enable the user to impart precisely defined complex shapes to the distal aspect of the guide wire. The method can also include providing a support mechanism for the catheter using an actuator segment incorporated into or onto the catheter to aid in the proximal support for far distal localization of the guide wire mounted induction element and actuator.
