    • Disclosed is a generator for a street lamp. The generator for a street lamp comprises: a pole-coupled unit coupled to a pole of the street lamp; a pole hub protruding upwardly from the top of the pole-coupled unit; a core fixed at the pole hub and formed into a cylindrical shape, coils being wound on the outer surface thereof; a cap hub arranged to cover the pole hub; and a cap fixed at the cap hub and formed into a cylindrical shape covering the core, on the inner surface of which a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged such that the permanent magnets are opposite the coils, and N-poles and S-poles of the permanent magnets alternate with each other. Preferably, the core is arranged such that effective magnetic fields are formed among adjacent permanent magnets having N-poles and S-poles. The generator of the present invention is small, and generates electrical energy in a highly efficient manner, and can thus be applied to a street lamp.

    • Disclosed are transverse and/or commutated flux machines and components thereof, and methods of making and using the same. Certain exemplary stators for use in transverse and commutated flux machines may be configured with gaps therebetween, for example in order to counteract tolerance stackup. Other exemplary stators may be configured as partial stators having a limited number of magnets and/or flux concentrators thereon. Partial stators may facilitate ease of assembly and/or use with various rotors. Additionally, exemplary floating stators can allow a transverse and/or commutated flux machine to utilize an air gap independent of the diameter of a rotor. Via use of such exemplary stators, transverse and/or commutated flux machines can achieve improved performance, efficiency, and/or be sized or otherwise configured for various applications.

    • A dynamo-electric machine which can function as a motor or a generator. The machine comprising a stator and an armature (80), and switching of the armature coils (c1-c7) is accomplished by means of a switching control assembly which is mounted to, and rotates with, the armature. In operation as a motor, direct current is supplied through brushes to slip rings (68, 70) that rotate with the armature, and the DC current supplied is first passed through switch means (92) in the control assembly to deliver the current in properly timed relationship with respect to the rotation of the rotor. This provides greater versatility in the operation of the motor/generator and eliminates many of the problems related to the use of conventional brush commutation commonly used in present day DC motors and generators.

    • This device is a brushless high-voltage electrical generator for producing a high energy external electrodynamic field or continuous quasi-coherent DC corona or arcdischarge of uniformed current density which completely encloses the machine's conductive housing (1). The primary voltage generated is electrostatically impressed across the rotor such that great quantities of electronic charge may be transported between the opposite polarity sections (3-5) of the housing, in such a manner that a much higher secondary voltage is caused to appear across interposed neutral sections thereof, and the resulting external breakdown current once initiated is independent of the generating coils'ampacity. Ancillary mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic features may be attached upon or within the housing to aid in harnessing and controlling the useful effects associated with the external dynamic electric field produced by the device.
