    • The Method of Bidirectional Automotive Transportation enables automobiles to apply their full performance capacity in either direction of movement (forward and rearward) without turning around. This invention is defined by two principles. The first is dual opposite-facing steering systems which enable both the front and rear wheels of the vehicle to be steered and driven as if they were guiding the "front" of a conventional car. The second principle is the synchronized, same-sense final drive output of one or more piston-engine powertrains, capable of delivering full and equal torque and speed in either the clockwise or counter-clockwise sense of rotation to the wheel axels, and thus to the automobile's forward or rearward motion. A supporting series of inventions, 4 Systems and 2 Apparatuses, make this Method practicable.     • A vehicle steering command module (26) is disoclosed that is removably connectable to a vehicle (20). The vehicle steering command module (26) includes a housing (28), a computer (30) disposed within the housing (28), and a plurality of adjustable handles (32) connected to the housing (28) for directing motion of the vehicle (20). The vehicle steering command module (26) adjusts the direction of vehicle travel via a steer by wire system. Preferably, there are two adjustable handles (32) connected to the housing (28). The handles (32) are adjustable between a retracted position and a plurality of extended positions to allow a user to select a preferred diameter between the handles (32). Further, each handle (32) preferably includes an electronic turn signal switch (34). The computer (30) includes an input device (31, 33, 52). The input device (31, 33, 52) is disabled when the vehicle steering command module (26) is connected to the vehicle (20) and the handles (32) are in one of the extended positions.
