The system includes a transistor arranged between an input node and an output node to set an amplitude of an output voltage at the output node based on an amplitude of an input current signal provided at the input node. The system also includes a negative feedback transformer coupled to the transistor to provide a negative feedback gain with respect to the output voltage to substantially increase transconductance of the transistor.

摘要： A method and apparatus are disclosed for filtering a signal, such as a transmit communication signal with a configurable notch filter. The configurable notch filter may attenuate a set of frequencies near a selected notch frequency. In some embodiments, the configurable notch filter may include a variable resistor, a variable capacitor, a first inductor, and a second inductor. The variable resistor may be configured to compensate for resistive losses within the configurable notch filter. The variable capacitor may be configured to determine the set of frequencies to be attenuated.

摘要： A wideband amplifier comprises a dual-emitter bipolar transistor arrangement (14; 70, 72; 70, 74, 76) with coaxial transformers (40, 42; 44, 46), each having a high turns ratio and tight coupling between a first toroidal winding (40; 44) on an annular ferrite core and a second, single-turn, winding (42; 46) constituted by a metal container of the transformer. The second windings are coupled between respective emitters and signal ground, and the first windings are connected between the transistor base and collector, respectively, and signal ground. An input signal is supplied to the base, and an output signal is derived from the collector. The dual-emitter bipolar transistor, which has four terminals, is thereby transformed into a two-port (input port and output port) device which facilitates impedance matching, provides a linear and constant gain over a large bandwidth, provides high isolation of the input from the output, and provides low noise at the input and a high level at the output.

摘要： A broadband, high-gain, active antenna system is disclosed, which operates with a bi-directive reception pattern while in its standard configuration and with a directive reception pattern over several octaves of Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum when affixed with a tuned scatter-plate. As a standalone active antenna system the disclosed antenna probe element and the amplifier subassembly exhibit the bi-directional directive properties of a standard fixed length dipole, while the addition of a scatter-plate makes the antenna directive with separate frequency-dependant directive modes. The scatter-plate can be tuned such that these separate directive modes occur at convenient areas of the RF frequency spectrum. Other means of achieving directivity are disclosed using the antenna probe element and the amplifier subassembly.

摘要： This disclosure relates generally to radio frequency (RF) amplification devices and methods of operating the same. In one embodiment, an RF amplification device includes an RF amplification circuit and a stabilizing transformer network. The RF amplification circuit defines an RF signal path and is configured to amplify an RF signal propagating in the RF signal path. The stabilizing transformer network is operably associated with the RF signal path defined by the RF amplification circuit. Furthermore, the stabilizing transformer network is configured to reduce parasitic coupling along the RF signal path of the RF amplification circuit as the RF signal propagates in the RF signal path. In this manner, the stabilizing transformer network allows for inexpensive components to be used to reduce parasitic coupling while allowing for smaller distances along the RF signal path.
