    • An automatic programming system for a two-saddle NC turret lathe. Shape definition for specifying machining requirements in each of the machining steps and machining data are input through the machining step input means for each of the machining steps together with the machining code that represents the machining step, and are stored in the memory means. A series of machining steps to be executed by each of the saddles are sorted and are set (S1 to S9) for each of the steps by sorting either the machining codes representing the machining requirements or the wait instructions by the machining-sorting setting means. Then a program is prepared based upon the thus set data and the stored data thereby to automatically prepare a machining program for each of the saddles (S1 to S9).
