    • Apparatus and method for material distribution, including a draw-bar (70) to which is fixedly connected a bucket body (12). Wheels or endless tracks are attached to the drawbar (70) on opposite sides of the bucket body (12) between an open side and a gate (61 ) thereof. A lower edge of the open side of the bucket body (12), which can receive material, is in the form of a cutting blade (78) or teeth. The gate (61 ), which is disposed opposite from the open side, can be opened and closed. At least part of a top side of the bucket body (12) forms a platform (77) for an operator. At least one engine (14; 202, 203) is provided and is drivingly connected to the wheels. A handlebar (64) is connected to the bucket body (12), forward of the platform (77), for pivoting the bucket body about the wheels so that the cutting blade (78) or teeth can be brought into or out of contact with a surface.

    • A wheelbarrow for carrying materials that includes a container, a pair of handles extending rearwardly from container to control movement of wheelbarrow and a pair of legs extending downwardly from the container to contact the ground. The wheel also has a barrel shaped wheel located at a predetermined location near the front end of the container. The wheelbarrow is self-balanced by strategically positioning the barrel-shaped wheel under and a little forward the center of gravity of the wheelbarrow, that is, the contact point of the wheel with the ground is slightly offset forwardly underneath the center of gravity of the wheelbarrow so that lifting, pushing and tilting requires minimal force and allows for superior control and maneuverability. Due to the shape and width of the wheel, during turns, the center of gravity of the wheelbarrows remains vertically, stably and near the point of contact of the wheel with the ground.

    • The invention relates generally to improvements in wheelbarrows and to a wheel barrow in which the structural shape of the frame and positioning of the wheel provide a wheelbarrow which is self-balancing and able to be operated by one operator and with very little lifting and pushing force. The wheelbarrow comprising a main frame defining first and second spaced-apart longitudinal portions; a load carrying portion comprising a front wall and a rear wall adjoined by a pair of opposite side walls and a floor defining a receptacle, said load carrying portion being mounted to said main frame and configured for supporting a load; an axle mounted below said main frame and contained substantially within said first and second spaced apart longitudinal portions; a ground engaging wheel rotatably mounted on said axle for moving the wheelbarrow over the ground; a first leg structure and a second leg structure attached respectively to said first and second spaced apart longitudinal portions configured to engage the ground when the wheelbarrow is in a stationary position; and wherein said load carrying portion has an upper portion and a lower portion separated by a shoulder, said upper portion located above said ground engaging wheel and said lower portion located behind said wheel.
