    • A closure system includes a container (31) and a closure (1) comprising a cap (3) having a cylindrical skirt (7) with internal threads (11), an annular tamper band (13) having an inside diameter larger than the outside diameter of the skirt forming an annular gap (15) therebetween, and flexible bridges (17) joining the tamper band (13) to the free end (9) of the cap skirt (7). The bridges (17) have angularly spaced end segments extending radially outward (19) and radially inward (21) from the skirt (7) and tamper band (13) respectively, and an intermediate segment (23) extending arcuately around the gap (15) between the end segments. The closure (1) is integrally molded with the bridges (17) and tamper band (13) extending radially outward in a common plane transverse to the central axis (29) of the cap (3). The bridges (17) flex to allow axial extension of the tamper band (13) for bonding to a shoulder (45) or transfer bead (55) on the container. Unscrewing of the cap (3) fractures the bridges (17), preferably at a section of reduced cross-section provided by notches (25, 27) at the intersection of the bridges (17) with the cap skirt (7). The set of the resilient bridges (17) causes them to spring against the container shoulder (45) or transfer bead (55) upon fracturing to provide a positive visual indication of opening or tampering with the closure (1).

    • A method of anchoring a connector in a heterogeneous first object is provided, the first object comprising a first building layer and, distally of the first building layer, an interlining layer. The interlining layer has a density substantially lower than a density of the first building layer and/or a mechanical resistance against insertion of the connector substantially lower than the corresponding mechanical resistance of the first building layer. The method comprises: - providing the first object; - providing the connector that comprises thermoplastic material in a solid state and extends between a proximal end and a distal end; - bringing the connector into physical contact with the first building layer; - applying a first mechanical pressing force to the connector until the first building layer is pierced by the connector and a distal portion of the connector reaches into the interlining layer; - applying a second mechanical pressing force and mechanical vibration to the connector until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material is flowable and penetrates structures of the first object, and a distally facing abutment face of the head portion abuts against the metal profile in a region next to the opening; and - letting the thermoplastic material resolidify to yield a positive-fit connection between the connector and the sandwich board.
