The machine (10, 10') comprises a support (14) for supporting a spring assembly (5) having border rods (6) preclipped at the corners on opposite sides thereof, a drive system (18) for continuously advancing one edge of the spring assembly (5) and the border rods (6) through a clip application station (16), two clip actuation gems (20, 22), a mechanism (26) for rotating the spring assembly (5) through 90 DEG after application of clips (19) to secure the border rods (6) to one edge of the spring assembly (5), and a control system that detects the entrance of springs (8) of assembly (5) into the clip application station (16) and then actuates the two clip application gems (20, 22) in sequence such that the springs (8) are successively secured to the border rods (6) along the one edge of the spring assembly (5) during passage thereof through the clip application station (16).

    • The metallic frames used in the production of spring mattresses are formed in the right dimension according to the mattress size required, and are attached to the innersprings assembly (1) with different types rings which are applied around the perimeter. The absence of an automated application of the Hog Ring clipping media, has created the present invention, where the metallic frames are getting pre-clipped outside the machine, manually on their four corners, and then are placed on the machine's table. From there, automatic indexing feeding of the belt (9), passes the innerspring assembly (1) in front of two or more clipping heads. The clipping heads, automatically, are fed with Hog Rings. The clipping heads are applying the Hog Rings in between the frame and the spring, and simultaneously being synchronized with the Servo motion of the feeding belt (9), transports the innerspring assembly (1) in the next clipping position. When each side of the innerspring assembly (1) is completed, a turning mechanism, turns the innerspring assembly 90 degrees in order for the next side to be clipped. The process is continuing until all the four innerspring sides are clipped. All machine's operating steps are executed by a servo system and controlled by an Industrial computer.
