    • A driving tool with tool portion and a gas delivery system. The tool portion includes a linear pneumatic motor that is configured to propel a driver blade. The gas delivery system is configured to deliver a pressurized gas, such as compressed air or nitrogen, to the tool portion for use in operating the linear pneumatic motor. The gas delivery system includes a first inlet, which is connectable to a first source of compressed gas, such as a stationary air compressor, a second inlet, which is connectable to a second source of compressed gas, such as a tank mounted to the tool portion, and a directional valve for selecting between the first and second inlets.

    • A fastener-driving device includes a trigger assembly (12) operatively disposed between a contact trip assembly (30) and an actuating assembly. The trigger assembly includes a trigger member (32), an actuating member (36), and an automatic mode selecting mechanism (48). The mode selecting mechanism includes a mode selecting member (56) having a connection with the actuating member (46) to make the mode selecting member (A) move with the actuating member between first and second positions of the actuating member, and (B) have relative movement with respect to the actuating member (46) so that the mode selecting mechanism (48) retains the actuating member in the first position in response to an initial movement of the trigger member (32) to the operative position, and (b) retains the actuating member in the second position in response to an initial movement of the contact trip assembly (30) into the operative position and a subsequent movement of the trigger member into the operative position.

    • A fastener driving device including a positioning mechanism for positioning a nail into an opening in a workpiece. The positioning mechanism includes an opening locating structure (60) movably connected to the movable assembly (45) of the contact trip assembly (42) and adapted to extend into the opening so as to align the nosepiece (18) with respect to the opening. The opening locating structure (60) is movable relative the movable assembly (45) of the contact trip assembly (42) between an extended position and a retracted position and biased toward the extended position by a first biasing spring (68) to facilitate locating of the opening, and movable to the retracted position when the opening locating structure (60) is pressed against a workpiece. The positioning mechanism further includes a guiding structure movably connected to the nosepiece structure, the guiding structure being biased by a spring (68) to extend forwardly to guide the fastener in a driving track inside the nosepiece (18).
