    • A delivery tool of a system for deploying medical diagnostics and/or therapy includes a deployment member and a sheath. An elastic cantilever element secured to a tubular sidewall of the deployment member, in proximity to a distal opening of a lumen formed by the sidewall, is spring biased to extend outward from the sidewall. When the cantilever element is received within the sheath, a sheath sidewall pushes the cantilever element inward, against the spring bias thereof, and a radius of curvature of the cantilever element approximately conforms to that of an outer surface of the deployment member sidewall. A helical track for receiving passage of a medical device helix fixation element therein may extend around a perimeter of the deployment member lumen, wherein a distal terminal end of the track is located in close proximity to the distal opening and generally opposite a free end of the cantilever element.

    • One embodiment of the invention comprises an intravenous medical electrical lead that includes an elongated lead body. The elongated lead body comprises a length between a proximal end and a shaped distal end, The lead body includes a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal end and the shaped distal end. The lead body has an outer circumference with a set of electrodes circumferentially spaced apart. Each electrode includes an electrically active portion and an insulated portion at an outer circumference of the electrode. If the lead body rotates within the delivery catheter, the lead body is configured to rotate back into a position such that the electrically active portion of a set of electrodes faces myocardial tissue when exiting the guide catheter while the insulated portion of electrode are diametrically opposed to neural tissue such as the phrenic nerve.

    • An implantable medical device, IMD, (100) is connectable to at least one ventricular lead (210) having a ventricular basal electrode (214) and a ventricular apical electrode (212). The IMD (100) comprises a pulse generator (120) for generating pacing pulses applied to a heart (10) through the ventricular lead (210). The operation of this pulse generator (120) is controlled by a controller (130) that is configured to control the pulse generator to first deliver a pacing pulse to the ventricular basal electrode (214) to stimulate the basal portion of the ventricle (12, 14) before a pacing pulse is delivered to the apical portion of the ventricle (12, 14) by the ventricular apical electrode (212). This pulse sequence achieves a biologically more correct cardiac stimulation and a contraction pattern that reduces the risk for valvular regurgitation.
