摘要： Embodiments relate to systems and methods for a cranial implant assembly adapted for insertion during a craniectomy procedure. In aspects, the inventive cranial implant assembly can contain a peripheral attachment member for attachment to the edge of a skull opening, as well as an articulated spanning member that over-arches and holds a cover in place over the opening. The articulated spanning member contains a central implant fastened or connected to a swollen dura in the skull opening. As swelling of the dura subsides, tension is exerted on guidewires in both the spanning member and cover to draw those constructs into a rigid state. The tips of the spanning member can gradually approach the peripheral attachment member, and register into place using a Iocking mechanism, such as a pair of opposing magnets. As a result, only one surgical operation or procedure Is required to both perform a craniectomy and implant a supporting assembly for eventual skull regeneration.

摘要： Systems, methods and devices for tensioning posterior cruciate ligaments during cruciate or bi-crucia e ligament-sparing arthroplasty. Non-limiting examples of such systems may include at least one series of tibial inserts of equal size; the at least one series of tibial inserts having at least one set of tibial inserts of equal thickness. The at least one set of tibial inserts of equal thickness may include at least two tibial inserts having different geometries in a posterior portion, the different geometries being configured to change the tension in the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). The different geometries in the posterior portions of the tibial inserts are configured so as to allow the posterior cruciate ligament to be tensioned or loosened independently of the tibial insert thickness and/or size. By providing different posterior geometries for each insert within a set of a series, a surgeon may be provided with more flexibility in choosing an insert that satisfies stability requirements in a non-invasive manner.

摘要： A hip implant assembly including a spherical shaped ball and an elongated stem. An annular defining rim separates the ball from the stem and abuts, in a maximum inserting condition, over an exterior reconditioned surface of the femur and upon inserting the stem within an interior passageway formed within the femur. A cup shaped support seats the ball in a universally articulating permitting fashion via a flexible and resilient ligament which extends from the ball and is received within a recess passageway of the cup. The cup also includes a mounting surface with a central projecting portion which is in turn resistively fitted within an undercut defined recess formed in the ilium bone in communication with a base surface of the reconditioned acetabulum socket. A corresponding installation kit assists the preparation of the femur and ilium bones defining the hip joint, as well as the installation of the implant body into the upper conditioned femur end and the cup shaped and outer socket support to a reconditioned acetabulum defined in the ilium bone.
