摘要： An elongated, pillow shaped prosthetic spinal disc nucleus body (10) for implantation into a human intervertebral spinal disc (32), made of a hydrogel core (12) and a flexible constraining jacket (14) surrounding the hydrogel material core (12) that permits the hydrogel core (12) to expand and contract. The hydrogel core (12) has a length approximating the sagittal diameter of a nucleus of the human disc, a width less than the length, and a height less than the length or width. The hydrogel core will expand and contract in a desired fashion as it imbibes and expels fluids in response to various loads placed upon the spinal tract. The constraining jacket (14) is porous to allow fluids to pass through to the hydrogel core (12), but prevents the hydrogel (12) from escaping, thus fostering the natural physiology of the human intervertebral disc. By implanting two prosthetic spinal disc nucleus bodies (10) side-by-side into a damaged disc (32) of a human spine, both height and motion can be maintained.

The cup member (10) may include several advantageous features such as a multi-directional and multi-planar channel (50) having an undercut area that provides an interference fit between the cup member (10) and a fixation material for enhanced fixation. The cup member (10) may further comprise a plurality of spacers (60) for ensuring an even mantle of fixation material between the cup member and the bone, a series of divots (70) for enhancing fixation, a locating feature that permits a physician to visualize and locate the cup member in the socket of the patient's bone on appropriate medical equipment, and a lead-in chamfer (42) located between a rim (40) and an interior surface (30) of the cup member (10). Further, the cup member (10) may comprise a planar rim (40) or may alternatively comprise a hood (90) located distally from said rim (40).

摘要： Method and device for providing of information after inserting of a prosthesis in a hip joint comprising prosthesis tem (7) and a prosthesis cup (1) and based on this information the position of the components of a hip prosthesis is provided. The prosthesis stem (7) and the prosthesis cup (1), or the part of the body in which the prosthesis are provide are provided with markers (2, 3, 4, 8, 8') that are shown on a X-ray picture. The X-ray picture is downloaded in a image-processing program wherein assistance lines (10, 11, 13, 14, 12), in order to determine the position of the prosthesis components, is downloaded manual or automatic in the image-processing program and the assistance lines (10, 11, 13, 14, 12) is brought in coincidence with the images of the markers on the X-ray picture. Thereater are the angels respectively for the prosthesis components by a calculation unit in the image-processing unit.
