摘要： Systems and methods for treating a subsurface formation are described herein. The system includes a wellbore at least partially located in a hydrocarbon containing formation. The wellbore includes a substantially vertical portion and at least two substantially horizontally oriented or inclined portions coupled to the vertical portion. A first conductor is at least partially positioned in a first of the two substantially horizontal oriented or inclined portions of the wellbore and includes electrically conductive material. A power supply is coupled to at least the first conductor and is configured to electrically excite the electrically conductive materials of the first conductor such that current flows between the electrically conductive materials in the first conductor, through at least a portion of the formation, to a second conductor and heats at least a portion of the formation between the two substantially horizontally oriented or inclined portions of the wellbore.

The heater may include a conduit (312) extending along a length of an opening (302) in the subsurface formation, an insulated conductor (250) located inside the conduit, an end termination section (315) of the heater, and an electrical coupler (316) located in the end termination section of the heater. The conduit may include electrically conductive ferromagnetic material. The insulated conductor may include an elongated electrical conductor (252), an electrical insulator (254) at least partially surrounding the elongated electrical conductor, and an electrically conductive sheath (256) at least partially surrounding the electrical insulator. The end termination section may be located in a portion of the opening distal from a surface of the subsurface formation. The method may also include attaching a lower portion of the fiber to a fiber carrier and lowering the carrier through the production tubing. A device for providing optical fiber in a wellbore including a fiber carrier configured to pass through production tubing and a lower portion of the fiber attached to the carrier. The carrier may have a proximal end configured to attach to a distal end of the production tubing such that the lower portion is in optical communication with an upper portion of the fiber present along the production tubing.

摘要： A system for providing information through a metal wall employs a device (10), such as a fiber optic cable, adapted to be arranged on one side of the metal wall (20) and a magnetic-permeability element (11), provided at, near or connected to the device. The magnetic-permeability element is based on a material having a relative magnetic permeability of at least 2000. The disclosure also provides use of said system. The use may involve the step of optimizing the magnetic-permeability element using equivalent inductive mass (Elm). The system can for example be used to magnetically sense the location of a cable (10) present on the outside of a wellbore tubular (20) using a magnetic orienting tool that is located within the wellbore tubular.

摘要： An insulated electrical conductor (MI cable) may include an inner electrical conductor, an electrical insulator at least partially surrounding the electrical conductor, and an outer electrical conductor at least partially surrounding the electrical insulator. The insulated electrical conductor may have a substantially continuous length of at least about 100 m. The insulated electrical conductor may have an initial breakdown voltage, over a substantially continuous length of at least about 100 m, of at least about 60 volts per mil of the electrical insulator thickness (about 2400 volts per mm of the electrical insulator thickness) at about 1300 F (about 700 C) and about 60 Hz. The insulated electrical conductor may be capable of being coiled around a radius of about 100 times a diameter of the insulated electrical conductor. The outer electrical conductor may have a yield strength based on a 0.2% offset of about 100 kpsi.
