摘要： A tissue ablation apparatus includes a delivery catheter with distal and proximal ends. A handle is attached to the proximal end of the delivery catheter. At least partially positioned in the delivery catheter is an electrode deployment device. The electrode deployment device includes a plurality of retractable electrodes. Each electrode has a non-deployed state when it is positioned in the delivery catheter. Additionally, each electrode has a distended deployed state when it is advanced out of the delivery catheter distal end. The deployed electrodes define an ablation volume. Each deployed electrode has a first section with a first radius of curvature. The first section is located near the distal end of the delivery catheter. A second section of the deployed electrode extends beyond the first section, and has a second radius of curvature, or a substantially linear geometry.

摘要： An RF treatment apparatus (10) includes a catheter (12) with a catheter lumen. A removable needle electrode (16) is positioned in the catheter lumen in a fixed relationship to the catheter (12). The needle electrode (16) includes a needle lumen and a needle electrode distal end. A removable introducer (18) is slidably positioned in the needle lumen. The introducer (18) includes an introducer distal end. A first sensor (24) is positioned on a surface of the needle electrode (16) or the insulator (20). An RF power source (52) is coupled to the needle electrode (16) and a return electrode. An insulator sleeve (20) is slidably positioned around the electrode (16) and includes a second sensor (26). Resources are associated with the electrodes (16), sensors (24, 26) as well as the RF power source (52) for maintaining a selected power at the electrode (16) independent of changes in current or voltage.

摘要： A multiple antenna ablation apparatus includes an electromagnetic energy source (20), a trocar (14) including a distal end (14'), and a hollow lumen extending along a longitudinal axis of the trocar (14), and a multiple antenna ablation device (12) with three or more antennas (16). The antennas (16) are initially positioned in the trocar lumen as the trocar (14) is introduced through tissue (28). At a selected tissue site (28) the antennas (16) are deployable from the trocar lumen in a lateral direction relative to the longitudinal axis. Each of the deployed antennas (16) has an electromagnetic energy delivery surface of sufficient size to (i) create a volumetric ablation between the deployed antennas (16), and (ii) the volumetric ablation is achieved without impeding out any of the deployed antennas (16) when 10 to 50 watts of electromagnetic energy is delivered from the electromagnetic energy source (20) to the multiple antenna ablation device (12). At least one cable (22) couples the multiple antenna ablation device (12) to the electromagnetic energy source (20).

摘要： An ablation treatment apparatus has a multiple antenna/probe/electrode device. The multiple antenna/probe/electrode device includes a primary antenna/probe/electrode with a lumen and a longitudinal axis, and a secondary antenna/probe/electrode positioned in the lumen when the primary antenna/probe/electrode is advanced through tissue. At a selected tissue site the secondary antenna/probe/electrode is slidingly deployed in a lateral direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the primary antenna/probe/electrode thereon positioned. At least a portion of a distal end of the secondary antenna/probe/electrode is structurally less rigid than the primary antenna/probe/electrode. 摘要： An ablation treatment apparatus includes a multiple antenna/probe/electrode device.
