摘要： Systems and methods for performing, assessing, and adjusting neuromodulation therapy are disclosed herein. One method for assessing the likely efficacy of neuromodulation therapy includes positioning a neuromodulation catheter at a target site within a renal blood vessel of a human patient and obtaining a measurement related to a diameter of the renal blood vessel via the neuromodulation catheter. The method can further include determining a diameter of the renal blood vessel at or near the target site based on the measurement. In some embodiments, (i) one or more parameters of neuromodulation energy to be delivered to the renal blood vessel can be adjusted based on the determined diameter and/or (ii) the neuromodulation catheter may be repositioned within the renal blood vessel.

A plurality of light sources is operable to radiate optical energy at a predetermined wavelength to promote hair growth. A control unit is coupled with the one or more sensors and the plurality of light sources, and a memory stores instructions executable by the control unit. The instructions may include to: receive, from the one or more sensors, the one or more measured hair growth parameters; determine a region within a boundary to be treated based on the one or more measured hair growth parameters; and radiate, by the plurality of light sources, optical energy at the predetermined wavelength at the region to be treated. The optical energy may be radiated within the boundaries of the region.

摘要： A method is provided to seal and cut biological tissue. An alternating current (AC) sealing signal is imparted between a set of sealing electrodes. An AC cutting signal is imparted between a set of cutting electrodes in response to a biological tissue impedance between the sealing electrodes reaching a first impedance threshold value. The AC sealing signal is halted at an end of a time interval, beginning while the AC cutting signal is imparted between the cutting electrodes, in response to impedance of the biological tissue disposed between the set of sealing electrodes reaching a second impedance threshold value.

摘要： Methods and systems for placement of and/or placement planning for body surface electrodes are described. In some embodiments, body surface electrodes are used to generate intra-body electromagnetic fields sensed by intra-body probes for applications such as electrical field-guided catheter navigation and/or dielectric property-based tissue lesion assessment. Sizes and/or positions of body surface electrodes are optionally selected based on the results of electromagnetic simulations. Criteria for selection include, for example, potential gradient uniformity and/or intensity. In some embodiments, body surface electrode placement is performed under automated optical guidance. For example, images are obtained and used to indicate and/or assess body surface electrode placement. Optionally, indication is with respect to fiducial marks placed on the body, to which an electromagnetic simulation is spatially registered.

摘要： Method and devices for delivering pulsed RF ablation energy to enable the creation of lesions in tissue are disclosed. The delivery of RF energy is controlled such that the generator (20) power setting remains sufficiently high to form adequate lesions while mitigating against overheating of tissue. An ablation catheter tip (42) having high thermal sensitivity comprises a thermally-insulative ablation tip insert (58) supporting at least one temperature sensor (68) and encapsulated, or essentially encapsulated, by a conductive shell (44). A system (10) for delivering pulsed RF energy to a catheter (12) during catheter ablation comprises an RF generator (20) and a pulse control box (22) operatively connected to the generator and configured to control delivery of pulsatile RF energy to an ablation catheter comprising at least one temperature sensor mounted in its tip. Also disclose is a method of controlling the temperature of an ablation catheter tip while creating a desired lesion using pulsatile delivery of RF energy.

This object is achieved by a guided thermal treatment system, comprising: - a thermal treatment system configured for applying thermal treatment pulses to a patient, wherein the thermal treatment pulses are spaced in time by a cool-down period, - a guidance system, configured to provide guidance to the thermal treatment, wherein the guidance system comprises a thermal module configured for providing a first and second level of cool-down period, the first level indicating a mandatory part of the cool- down period in which applying of a thermal treatment pulse is prohibited, the second level indicating a recommended part of the cool-down period in which applying a thermal treatment pulse would result in an elevated risk of overheating in a sensitive patient, but not in a non-sensitive patient.

摘要： An apparatus for personal aesthetic skin treatment by RF voltage. The apparatus includes an RF voltage supply and a disposable patch with an assembly of individual electrodes operative to contact segments of the skin and deliver to each contact RF voltage. The RF voltage may be supplied to each of the electrodes according to a predetermined experimentally established skin treatment protocol. The treatment RF current generated by the applied RF voltage heats the skin and is applied intermittently to different electrodes being in contact with the skin in an order and duration sufficient to cause the desired skin effect and enable proper cooling of earlier treated skin segments. The selected protocol ensures safe non-ablative skin treatment parameters.
