    • The present invention relates to a heating/air conditioning system for a motor vehicle, comprising a casing (1) forming a duct for the air to travel between the outside of the vehicle and the inside of the passenger compartment, inside which are placed at least one air pulser (3), an evaporator (2), a plasma generator (11) placed close to the evaporator, the system also comprising a control module (12) capable of initiating the operation of the air pulser (3) and of the evaporator (2) when the system is in a mode of cooling the air flowing in the duct towards the inside of the passenger compartment. According to the invention, the system comprises a means (13) for measuring the temperature of the evaporator (2), close to the plasma generator (11), and the control module (12) initiates, when the motor vehicle is no longer switched on, an operating mode called a sanitizing mode of the system, in which the control module (12) commands the air pulser (3) to allow a flow (9') of the air in the said duct from the inside of the passenger compartment to the outside of the vehicle, and initiates the operation of the plasma generator (11) for a limited period as soon as the measured temperature reaches a predefined setpoint value.
