摘要： Apparatuses and methods for medium reservation in the case of multi-user (MU) communications. Multiple mechanisms are supported for protecting MU transmissions, wherein appropriate control messages can be exchanged between an access point and served user stations before transmitting downlink data packets. In particular an apparatus (402) for wireless communications, comprising: a transmitter configured to transmit a reservation message (406) to a plurality of apparatuses (404 1.3 ) to reserve a medium for data communication; and a receiver configured to receive, on a channel, a plurality of confirmation messages (408) transmitted simultaneously on the channel form two or more of the apparatuses in response to the reservation message (406), wherein the confirmation messages (408) comprise a substantially same wavelength, wherein the transmitter is also configured to transmit data ((412) over the medium to the two or more apparatuses in response to the confirmation messages (408).

摘要： Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for using a Media Access Control (MAC) address of a station (STA) sending a direct link multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission such that one or more STAs receiving the transmission may interpret a group identifier (ID) indicating a group to which the STAs belong. Using the group ID and the MAC address allows a STA to independently manage its group IDs, independent of an access point (AP) or other STAs in a Basic Service Set (BSS).

摘要： Methods and apparatuses are proposed for supporting one or more user-dependent channel state information (CSI) feedback rates in a downlink spatial division multiple access (SDMA) system. For certain aspects, an access point (AP) may receive a channel evolution feedback from one or more stations and send a request for CSI to the stations whose CSI values need to be updated. For certain aspects, the AP may poll the stations for updated CSI values. For certain aspects, deterministic back-off timers may be assigned to the stations indicating when to send their CSI feedback. The proposed methods may improve system performance.

摘要： Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for efficiently managing overloaded group IDs for groups of stations (STAs) receiving simultaneous transmission in a multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) scheme. In this manner, overloading for some of the groups may allow flexibility at an access point (AP) to trade off between support for more STA combinations and power savings. As disclosed herein, the group ID management scheme may be flexible enough to support APs with both overloaded and non-overloaded groups and APs with only non-overloaded groups. This scheme also achieves these benefits for overloading with a low overhead.

摘要： Simultaneous, multi-user uplink communication is scheduled in a wireless network (100) by transmitting a poll message (411) to a plurality of access terminals (403-406) in response to receiving a first request to transmit data (410) via uplink. The poll message (411) includes a solicitation for requests to transmit data from each of the plurality of access terminals (403-406). The poll message (411) also includes a medium reservation and schedule for transmission of the requests from the access terminals. Based on the requests received from the access terminals, a number of the access terminals (403, 404) are selected for simultaneous transmission of data (418, 419) via uplink. A transmit start message (416) is sent to each of the selected access terminals (403, 404) indicating when and for how long the selected access terminals (403, 404) may transmit data via uplink. After the data (418, 419) is received, a block ACK message (422, 423) is sent to each of the selected access terminals (418, 419) indicating successful simultaneous communication.
