    • In a process for building tyres for vehicle wheels, a carcass sleeve (3) is arranged on a shaping drum (1) comprising two half-drums (15) and two supports (16). Each support is operatively associated with one of the half-drums (15) and carries a plurality of turning-up levers (28) having free ends (28b) positioned close to the respective half-drum (15).
