摘要： A system for injecting medium into a patient includes an automated injector including a reservoir, an ejector for ejecting a volume of fluid medium from the reservoir, and an actuator coupled to the ejector. An input device includes a syringe housing, a plunger, a circuit board coupled to a first component of the input device, a plunger position sensor, a battery, and a transmitter for sending an input device action signal to the automated injector. The input device action signal is based at least in part on a signal sent from plunger position sensor. A diversion apparatus is disposed downstream from the reservoir and is configured to receive at least a first portion of the volume of the fluid medium ejected from the reservoir.

摘要： A system for modulating delivery of a fluid medium to a selected site within a patient's body includes a syringe (332) for injecting the fluid medium, a delivery catheter (334) including a conduit (T6) for delivering the fluid medium from outside of the body to the selected site within the body, and a flow diverter assembly (575) disposed in a fluid medium flow path between the syringe (332) and the delivery catheter (334). The syringe (332) includes a chamber for receiving the fluid medium therein. The flow diverter assembly (575) is configured to simultaneously divert at least some of the fluid medium within the chamber of the syringe (332) away from the delivery of the medium through the delivery catheter conduit (T6) during injecting with the syringe (332), and wherein the flow diverter assembly (575) creates increasing medium fluid flow resistance with increasing pressure level of the fluid medium within the flow diverter assembly (575). A method for modulating fluid delivery to a selected site within a patient's body is also disclosed.

摘要： This disclosure presents methods and devices for treating a tear, rent, incision, defect, aperture or delamination of the annulus fibrosus of an intervertebral disc. The methods and devices can employ fixation delivery apparatuses (2010, 2016), fixation apparatuses (2030, 2034), patch delivery tools and patches positioned, at least in part, in or on aspects of an intervertebral disc for treatment of the intervertebral disc or its components. In some aspects, these techniques include the use of a fixation apparatus that includes at least one bone anchor connected to at least one disc anchor by a shortenable elongate member.

摘要： A spinal disc annulus repair stent for repair and reconstruction of the spinal disc wall (annulus) after surgical invasion or pathologic rupture, which may incorporate suture closure or other means of stent insertion and fixation, designed to reduce the failure rate of conventional surgical procedures on the spinal discs. In an illustrative embodiment, the design of the spinal disc annulus stent advantageously allows ingrowth of normal cells of healing in an enhanced fashion strengthening the normal reparative process.

摘要： A system (825) and method for collection and re-use of a fluid medium derived from the diversion of at least some of an injection of the medium to a selected site within a patient's body are described. The system includes a sterile medium container (328), a flow diverter assembly (575) disposed in a fluid medium flow path between an injection syringe (332) and a medium delivery catheter (334), and a diversion reservoir (827, 827a, 827b) having a reservoir chamber (860, 834) for receiving the diverted portion of the fluid medium from the flow diverter assembly (575) and a fluid coupling (588b) to the sterile medium container (328). The flow diverter assembly (575) is configured to divert at least a portion of a fluid medium injection from the medium flow path between the syringe (332) and the delivery catheter (334) during injection. The diversion reservoir (827, 827a, 827b) is configured so as to preferentially allow re-use of the diverted medium in the reservoir chamber (860, 834) prior to allowing use of the medium in the sterile medium container (328).
