    • The invention overcomes the deficiencies of the prior art by providing a rapid approach for isolating binding proteins capable of binding small molecules and peptides via "display-less" library screening. In the technique, libraries of candidate binding proteins, such as antibody sequences, are expressed in soluble form in the periplasmic space of gram negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, and are mixed with a labeled ligand. In clones expressing recombinant polypeptides with affinity for the ligand, the concentration of the labeled ligand bound to the binding protein is increased and allows the cells to be isolated from the rest of the library. Where fluorescent labeling of the target ligand is used, cells may be isolated by fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS). The approach is more rapid than prior art methods and avoids problems associated with the surface-expression of ligand fusion proteins employed with phage display.

    • A two-stage medium-pressure screw-type air compressor set comprises a first-stage screw compressor (21) and a second-stage screw compressor (22) which is communicated with a gas-liquid separator (6) via a gas-liquid tangential inlet tube (61). The middle part of the gas-liquid separator is provided with an oil outlet tube (63); oil liquid from the oil outlet tube (63) passes through an oil-liquid filter (64) and lubricating oil is injected to the lubricating parts of the compressors. The oil outlet part of the gas-liquid separator (6) is also provided with a secondary separator (9), which comprises an upper separating barrel (91) and a lower separating barrel (92).The upper part of the upper separating barrel (91) is provided with a secondary oil inlet (94) connected with the oil outlet tube (63) and the lower part thereof is provided with a secondary oil outlet (98) connected with the lubricating parts of the compressors. An electric ball valve (95) is arranged between the upper separating barrel (91) and the lower separating barrel (92), and the lower part of the lower separating barrel (92) is provided with a secondary drain electromagnetic valve (99). The two-stage medium-pressure screw-type air compressor set can efficiently reduce the level of moisture and impurities in the lubricating oil, and thus provides stable pressure discharge, high operational efficiency, reliability and safety, low-noise levels and long service life.

    • An MRI RF coil that is optimized for SENSE imaging is used in a method where the surface current density distribution on a coil former was calculated to maximize the SNR sense within a volume of interest. An analytic relationship was formulated between the SNR sense and surface current density on the coil former. The SNR at pixel p in a SENSE-MR image, SNR sense , p , is inversely proportional to the g- factor. The g-factor was formulated in terms of the B1 distribution of the coils. By specifying the geometry of the desired coil former and using a finite element mesh, the surface current distribution was calculated to maximize the SNR sense , by minimizing (1 /SNR sense ) in the volume of interest using a least squares procedure. A simple two-coil array was tested and phantom images were collected. The results show that the new coil design method yielded better uniformity and SNR compared to standard coils.
