摘要： Apparatus and methods of treating a hard lens region of an eye with a laser where one method includes identifying a boundary of the hard lens region, selecting a laser-parameter to enable a photodisruptive procedure in the hard lens region and to control a spreading of bubbles in the hard lens region, modifying a mechanical property of a posterior portion of the hard lens region in a proximity of the identified boundary by the photodisruptive procedure, and modifying a mechanical property of a portion anterior to the modified posterior portion of the hard lens region by the photodisruptive procedure. The laser bubbles can be applied to form incisions which are non transverse to an axis of the eye and intersect the lens fibers.

摘要： A system and method for billing for one or more surgical procedures includes a treatment planning module to accept input selecting multiple surgical procedures, a patient data management module to provide patient data, and a billing module to charge different payers for the selected surgical procedures in relation to the patient data, wherein the control system is operable to communicate with a surgical apparatus, configured to perform the selected multiple procedures. The system can include a user interface to provide a treatment planning menu to select surgical procedures, a payer sources menu, to input identification of the different payers, and a payer factor menu, to input factors impacting coverage by the different payers. A method of billing for one or more surgical procedures includes accepting input selecting multiple surgical procedures, accepting input regarding patient data, and charging different payers for the selected surgical procedures in relation to the patient data.

摘要： Optical imaging techniques and systems provide high-fidelity optical imaging based on optical coherence tomographic imaging and can be used for optical imaging in ophthalmic surgery and imaging-guided surgery. One method for imaging an eye includes positioning the eye relative to a Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomographic (SD-OCT) imaging system, the eye having a first and a second structure, and imaging the eye with the SD-OCT imaging system by selecting one of a direct image and a mirror image of the first eye-structure and generating a first image-portion corresponding to the selected image of the first eye-structure, selecting one of a direct image and a mirror image of the second eye-structure and generating a first image-portion corresponding to the selected image of the second eye-structure, and suppressing the non-selected images of the first and second structures.

摘要： A method of photodisruptive laser surgery includes selecting a target region of a tissue for fragmentation, directing a beam of laser pulses to the selected target region of the tissue, and forming cells in the target region of the tissue by directing the laser beam to generate cell boundaries. The cells can be arranged in regular or irregular arrays. The cells can be generated in parallel or successively, with cell sizes and laser parameters which reduce the time of ophthalmic surgery considerably.

摘要： Systems (10) and methods (100) of incising a portion of a material include creating a sub-surface separation in a region of the materiai, and incising a periphery of the region with a pulsed laser beam to produce an edge of the portion. The edge includes a periodically varying shape to secure the portion to the material when the portion is reintegrated. The system (10) includes a laser (14) producing the pulsed laser beam, a scanner (20) operable in response to a control signal, and a controller (22) coupled to the scanner. The controller produces the control signal. In response to the control signal, the scanner creates a sub-surface separation in the region with the pulsed laser beam and incises the periphery of the region with the pulsed laser beam to produce the edge (72, 78, 84) with the periodically varying shape.
