    • A method and apparatus are disclosed for controlling a hybrid power system including a method of controlling a hybrid power system including an engine and a storage device operatively connected to a machine including at least one non-traction load. The method includes identifying a first operating sequence indicative of a repeated operation of the at least one non-traction load. The first operating sequence includes a plurality of time increments. The method also includes determining first and second parameters of the hybrid power system respectively indicative of a requested power of the at least one non-traction load and an output power of the at least one non-traction load. The method includes comparing the determined first and second parameters at the plurality of time increments of the first operating sequence. The method also includes determining a third parameter of the hybrid power system indicative of power regenerated from the at least one non-traction load. The method also includes monitoring the third parameter at the plurality of time increments of the first operating sequence. The method also includes determining at least one of a power deficiency or a power surplus associated with the non-traction load of the hybrid power system. The power deficiency is a function of the first and second determined parameters and the power surplus is a function of the third determined parameter. The method further includes selectively adjusting power stored within the storage device during at least the portion of a second operating sequence as a function of a determined power deficiency or the determined power surplus. The second operating sequence including a plurality of time increments.
