摘要： The present invention provides compositions comprising at least one novel organic iridium compound which comprises at least one cyclometallated ligand and at least one ketopyrrole ligand. The organic iridium compositions of the present invention are referred to as Type (1) organic iridium compositions and are constituted such that no ligand of the novel organic iridium compound has a number average molecular weight of 2,000 grams per mole or greater (as measured by gel permeation chromatography). Type (1) organic iridium compositions are referred to herein as comprising "organic iridium complexes". The novel organic iridium compositions are useful in optoelectronic electronic devices such as OLED devices and photovoltaic devices. In one aspect, the invention provides novel organic iridium compositions useful in the preparation of OLED devices exhibiting enhanced color properties and light output efficiencies.

摘要： Novel metal porphyrin compositions useful as organic phosphors are provided. The novel compositions are prepared from commercially available porphyrin-containing starting materials. In one instance a novel palladium-containing porphyrin composition having a number average molecular weight of greater than 12,000 grams per mole was prepared from 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(3',5'-di(hydroxy)phenyl)-21H-23H- porphyrin by reaction first with palladium(II) acetylacetonate, followed by reaction with 2-bromo-2-methylpropionyl bromide, and subsequent group transfer reaction of the alpha-bromo ester groups with 9,9-dioctyl-2-vinylfluorene in the presence of CuBr as a radical initiator. The product polymer exhibited a number average molecular weight of 12,884 grams per mole, a weight average molecular weight of 14,338 grams per mole, and a robust red phosphorescent emission. Porphyrin containing copoylmers comprising structural units derived from 9,9-dioctyl-2- vinylfluorene and 9-anthracenylmethyl methacrylate were prepared in a similar fashion.

摘要： In one aspect, the invention provides a polyarylether having pendant carbazolyl groups. The polymers of the invention are made by the bromination of a polyarylether, which is then reacted with a carbazole moiety. The polymers may have some amount of unsubstituted aromatic groups and some brominated aromatic groups also. These polymers find use in optoelectronic device. Thus, in another aspect, the invention provides optoelectronic device comprising a polyarylether having pendant carbazolyl groups.
