摘要： A system and method for performing Raman spectroscopy using a heterodyne detection scheme are described. The heterodyne detection scheme can combine a modulated portion of radiation having passed through a sample to be analyzed with a reference radiation to produce a combined frequency signal. At least a portion of the reference radiation can be filtered out of the combined frequency signal, resulting in a filtered frequency signal. Information related to the sample can be determined based upon the filtered signal. The determined information can then be analyzed to determine a chemical composition of the sample.

According to some examples, a first solid state drive (SSD) controller and a second SSD controller are detected. The hardware interconnect is detected between the first SSD controller and the second SSD controller. Next, a communication connection between the first SSD controller and the second SSD controller is established through the hardware interconnect. The first SSD controller may be allowed to manage a flash controller of the second SSD controller for tasks that include a deduplication task and a low level redundant array of independent disks (RAID) task.

A tunable spectrometer may include an optical filter, having a first reflector stack and a second reflector stack separated by a half-wave spacer, a heater, a heat-sink and a detector array. At least one of the first reflector stack, the second reflector stack, and the half-wave spacer is made from a thermo-optic material. The heater and the heat sink are separately in contact with at least one of the first reflector stack, the second reflector stack, and the half-wave spacer. The detector array is configured to collect an output from the optical filter. In various embodiments, the heat and the heat sink may be separated by an optically transparent thermal isolator.

By applying an electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic field across one or more reflector layers of the VCSEL, a refractive index of the reflector layer(s) may be modified. The VCSEL may then be excited and the laser beam generated by the VCSEL phase-modulated by modifying a magnitude of the applied field.
